Greetings!

It's been quite a summer already! Our enrichment classes are in full swing, the Pony Express sendoff was a success, and all the planning for the new ride year keeps the midnight oil burning here at Horses Help. The new renderings for the expansion just came in. Special thanks to Joe Lisiewki and the team at Kitchell for capturing our vision for the future.TAKE A LOOK!  Now we just have to find some great financial partners!
Everyone have a safe summer and stay in touch!  The new ride year is just around the corner.

Happy Trails,
Gregg

Summer Sessions are 'Not Just Horseplay!'   Our Summer Enrichment Programs are in full swing and all of the participants are having a blast!
This week will wrap up the second session of Not Just Horseplay! NJH1which has the kids riding, reading, painting horses, building kaleidoscopes, and swimming around the pool. Reading and Riding with Applejack has been a major hit with the younger horse lovers. They have enjoyed riding one of our awesome horses, grooming their new four footed friend, and reading a story to very tentative ponies (Applejack was lucky enough to have Old McDonald

sung to him the first week!). Be sure to join us for the two remaining Reading & Riding sessions before school starts back up!

We will be wrapping up our Summer Enrichment Programs with Jr. Equine Vet which is bound to be a fun filled and educational week. Our beloved Herd veterinarian Dr. Mark Anderson will be paying these animal lovers a visit during the program and teaching them a thing or two about what things a practicing veterinarian does on a daily basis. By the end of the week these Jr. Vets will be able to take vital signs, safely handle horses, know the basics of treating an ill horse, and much more! Only a few spots left in our July 30 session...sign up today!

  The Pony Express Rides Again!
The sendoff was done in fine fashion as our two selected Pony Express riders, Luca and Landon, were sworn in by this year's Trail Boss Larry.  The mail bag hand-off was to Lead Rider Griffin, who worked his way through traffic to begin the ride to Prescott.  Thanks to everyone who supported the purchase of the commemorative letters that made the ride north;  40 of which will be going to service men and women overseas.  God Speed.

Time to Boot Scoot and Boogie!
It may be summer and November seems a long way off, but our teams are planning, hunting and gathering for the 2012 Barn Bash!  Time to get the word out to potential sponsors and talented individuals to help make this year's Barn Bash the BIGGEST EVER!  The fundraising goal has been set at $100,000.  So, spread the word, this year's event is all about having the most amazing fun-raising party in the history of Phoenix!

Donors Go Wild
Carin
We wish to congratulate Carin Whitehurst for having the winning aha moment in Mutual of Omaha's recent contest. A big thanks to all of you who helped make that happen!  Both Last year's winner, our very own Brian Elsey, and Carin were in the running this year. While both are winners in our book, Carin finished in the top four!  What that means for Horses Help is an amazing $5,000. Thank you, Carin, for making Horses Help your charity of choice.

Community to the Rescue!
You may have heard that we had a recent break in, sustaining some building damage and  loss of property.  Well, we just maintained a positive attitude and guess what, the community overwhelmed us with kindness. Within an hour of a call to our friends at Home Depot, they were onsite, measuring and fixing the damage.
Then we received an outpouring of support, including replacing the Alice Cooper autographed guitar by our friends at Airpark Chrysler Jeep.
We want to thank everyone who gave well wishes and came by to help in any way they could.

Additional thanks go out to the Reardon family

Our Employee Contribution funds keep growing, even in this economy.  Must mean we are doing something right!  Use our United Way number 0888 to select Horses Help as your charity of choice!

Special note
to our monthly charm donors - after finally receiving the new charm selection, 50 of the new bracelets and all of the charms were stolen during our break in. We are re-ordering these and will ship them out as soon as possible.  A letter is being sent to you explaining this issue.
