Championship Yields Profits:

Seven brave soles entered Cardinals Stadium on Monday Night to provide life sustaining food and adult beverages to the throngs of people attending the National Championship game between the Auburn Tigers, and Oregon Ducks.  Little did we know the lifestyles of these two College entities.  We arrived at noon and witnessed a mile long line to get into the stadium at 4pm.  (The Game began at 6:30) The tailgating smoke was thick in the air with Chanting and Quacking from the early crowd.

The gates opened and we were at full throttle by 5:15.  Much like the full throttle saloon the hungry and very thirsty crowed clambered to our stand in unrelenting waves of humanity.  I want you to know that people from Alabama know how to drink beer and eat hot dogs.  I think Budwieser had to call St. Louis for back up and the Rabbis were working overtime to generate the number of Kosher Hot Dogs being slugged down.  At Nine o'clock Brittany announced the time and no-one had even use the pottie.  Tired but not beaten, our little stand of 7 survived the ordeal.  I thought Brittany was going to go into labor, the death rattle from the Hot Dog King, upon seeing another bag of 20 red dogs to be cooked, kept me vigilant reciting the CPR Compression ratios under my breath. A large bottle of Advil was our drug of choice.
Our last game of the season generated $9000 dollars in cash alone. We had tips of $176.00 and countless Credit Card Sales.  If we had not cut off the beer sales when we did we would have had to turn the stadium into an overnight disaster recovery zone.
I want to thank the 40 some volunteers who helped throughout this football season.  I also want to thank last nights crew, Brittany, Scott, Margie, Terri, Sara, Billie the (King of the Dog).  All of these Cardinals Crew Members generated over 11K dollars to Horses Help this year.  It will take us the rest of this year to recover. But we can't wait to do it again next year!
