Mr. POn January 17th, Ron Jakola will be onsite to present Natural Horsemanship and the Therapy Horse-building relationships.  Ron is a director with Arizona Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association and has a world of experience and training. Ron has worked with police departments and at risk/gang intervention groups for over 30 years. 
Date: January 17th 2011
Time: 12:00-2:30 and 6:00-8:30 pm
Cost: $20.00 and will count as continuing education credits for instructors.

CPR First Aid Training:  Horses Help offers this course in conjunction with the state meeting and two other times in the upcoming months.  Contact Brittany Winkelman to schedule your class today.  Brittany.w@horseshelp.org  Cost of this certification is $55.00 with the book or $45.00 without the book.

NARHA National Workshop and Certification Weekend:  February 17-20.  Workshop is geared for people who wish to begin a path toward certification.  Workshop is open to all who are interested.  Certification segment is only for Instructors in Training who have completed their NARHA Phase One and teaching hours.  Evaluators/Instructors Michelle Lafleur and Amy Shoffner.  Contact Michelle Weed at michelle.w@horseshelp.org for more information.

State Meeting : Friday March 11th 8 am -6pm

Location: Horses Help

We are in the process of planning our State Meeting.  We are seeking requests for proposals for topics which are meaningful to our membership.  The opportunities for presentations or forum/discussion may be any of the following:
  • EFMHA topics for discussion/presentation Example ( EAA vs EAP, insurance, certifications etc) 
  • Instructors topics for discussion/presentation Example (Arena plans, Natural Horsemanship, disability focus, Brain Gym, saddle fitting etc.)
  • Administrators topics for discussion/presentation Example( Board Development, grantwriting, collaborative relationships etc.) 
  • Volunteer Coordinators topics for discussion/presentation
  • Horses for Heroes topics for discussion/presentation Example (brainstorming building programs, sharing contact information etc.)
  • Arizona Special Olympics Example (SO Certification Workshop)
  • New members forum/ presentation

Please send your comments on suggested topics for discussion to be considered.
