Cindy Ramsey Comes Home, and drops us a note.

Dear Gregg,

Thank you so much for having our saddle club out for an onsite program in saddle fitting.
Cave Creek Saddle Club has a long history in the north valley area and enjoys a membership of over 100 members. With monthly meetings from September through May, a program is provided each month.

The program for April was Saddle Fitting. This informational presentation was given by Paula Wilder and Mary Ann Clark of Tack Etcetera. Horses Help was a perfect environment with the open area and lighting and most of all a Perfect Horse. Thanks so much for the use of Navi. He stood in the middle of a throng of over 30 people reaching, touching and bumping him while saddle after saddle was placed on him and evaluated for correctness of fit.

This meeting had the greatest number of attendees we've had at a meeting all year. Many enjoyed the pre-tour of Horses Help and were amazed at all the varied programs that occur there.

If anyone is interested in learning more about our saddle club they can either call me at 480-488-8444 or go to our website www.cavecreeksaddleclub.org.

Sincerely,

Cindy Ramsey, President

SOLAR UPDATE:
We passed our City Inspection and with the help of Greg Pitz with Logos Solar, Mike Dwyer our esteemed electrician, Tom
Carter the project manager and Ironco our structural wizards, these gentlemen have put in an amazing effort in this project. Greg updated the engineering plans for APS several times, with great precision and Mike has made all of the installation adjustments working with the inspectors.  Now we await our commission inspection on Tuesday. After that let the sun shine in!

Black Stallion Literacy Foundation:
Our friends with Black Stallion have a wonderful event this Sunday and could use a few great volunteers as ticket takers etc.  If you are interested please contact Jennifer at 602-466-5390.
The location is the Equidome at Westworld and the show is the Arabian Nights. You get into the show for free when you help out.

Creative Women of Pinnacle Peak:
We want to recognize a new grant award from Creative Women of Pinnacle Peak.  They have honored Horses Help with a grant award of $3500.00 this month.  This amazing organization of community minded spirits presented our newest Board Member Don Bearham the award at a luncheon this past week.  So if you know of any representative with this organization, please give them a giant hug from all of us at Horses Help.  We could never do the amazing things we do without them!
Greetings!

This was a very busy couple of weeks with alot more on our calendar.  This email just touches on some very special organizations who have warmed our heart and extended a helping hand at Horses Help

Sincerely,
Gregg Goodman

Eagle Scout Project
Going Green

When Tommy Verley from troop 131 came to me about an Eagle Scout Project, he chose to tackle the Community Gardens project.  Tommy used his resources well by soliciting the expert help of Michelle Speiler (AZ Homegrown solutions) and our Freedom Rider Segway Bill, they embarked on a wonderful new addition to Horses Help. This project grew out of our urban farm model of composting, solar and rainwater harvesting.  With the help of Bonnie Plants representatives Joe Hill and Cassie Berger, who provided the plants, and Kevin Buchanan with Pavestone provided the bricks for the planters.  The project will be to introduce our riders to the new gardens for some sensory integration.  Az Homegrown solutions and Bonnie Plants will add the ability to teach some canning and solar cooking classes.  This is a great multifaceted project for our community.  So if your cooking chicken and need some rosemary, come on down to Horses Help and enjoy this wonderful eagle project.  Tommy especially wishes to thank his mom Mary for all of her support.  We say congrats to all.
