Timely Tips March 2012:
Cool Article with MS Word Tips & Tricks

* Plus a Taming E-mail webinar replay and upcoming webinar on Optimizing Your Outlook
March 2012
Greetings!

Spring has Sprung!!!  (And so has my related stuffy nose here in Michigan.)  But I'll take it -- love the warmer weather, the flowers, and yes, even mowing the lawn.  But before I can get out and enjoy all that, I owe you a new installment of Timely Tips before March goes "Bye Bye"!

Here it is (and I just love it when somebody else does my work for me!):
Timely Tips March 2012 -- Fun and Useful Article on MS Word Tips and Tricks
This is ALWAYS the place to look for your Timely Tip!

Sometimes when I'm perusing the web and my favorite tech sites and writers, I come across an article that basically says what I'd like to say in a way I'd like to say it.  That is what I'm giving you this month -- a link to a fun little article with several great tips on getting more from Microsoft Word.  I usually don't cover much on Word and Excel, as for several years now, I've been using OpenOffice instead, but I know many of you are still using Word, so when I came across this, I figured you'd find it as useful as me.  (Of interest, many of these tips worked in the OpenOffice Document creator too!)

Here's the link to the article -- enjoy!

(By the way, it looks like this blog author, Becky Worley, also has some other very good productivity-related content -- might be worth a little "blog diving" if you have a moment or two.  Just click on "Becky Worley" at the top of the article.)

90-Minute Taming E-mail Webinar Replay Now ALWAYS Available!

For the last couple of years, many of you have been asking for a way to have my program on Taming the E-mail Beast available for personal reference.  I have a solution for you now!  Through my recent work with Copper Services, I now have a new and very recent streaming video recording of my Taming the E-mail Beast program.

This is a full 90-minute webinar, very similar to the live programs I lead at companies and conferences.

You can purchase a single-person license for only $149 for unlimited viewing, thus meaning you can watch, pause, rewind, and replay the session to get even better e-mail tips and master these critical e-mail productivity techniques.  (And if you use the "Timelyman" code at purchase, you can get an extra 10% off!!!)

Here is the purchase information page on ConveyContent.com.

You may have to register for a free ConveyContent account to log in before making the purchase, but I recommend you do as there is actually quite a bit of really interesting content (much of it free) on the site by other experts, authors, and other notable "gurus".

As I mentioned, your purchase of this is for a single user, and not to be broadcast to a larger group of people or shared with others.  If you have an interest in sharing this with a larger group of people, please e-mail me back at randy@randalldean.com and we can discuss terms for a multi-person license.

Now you can have my advanced e-mail training ANYTIME and pretty much ANYWHERE, and you can watch it at your speed -- you can master this!

And remember, with your purchase, you can get a number of other valuable bonuses, including a free e-book copy of Taming the E-mail Beast.

*******

I hope all of you parents leaving for Spring Break have clear skies and/or clear roads, and warm sunny beaches (and/or powdery slopes) in front of you.  And for you poor souls that will still be working next week, at least you'll be able to use your MS Word a bit better!

Look for another Timely Tips very soon, probably with yet another webinar announcement you'll be interested in!

Until next month, Stay Timely!

Sincerely,

Full-Version "Optimizing Your Outlook" Webinar
On Tuesday, May 15, at 11:30 a.m. Eastern/8:30 a.m. Pacific, I will be hosting my second 90-minute webinar in my ongoing professional development series on "Optimizing Your Outlook".

This program will build on my last webinar program, Taming the E-mail Beast, that you can now purchase in streaming replay form (information to the left.)

I will be covering 2-3 of my best e-mail tips as a refresher, but then will go into greater detail in the "other four functions" of Microsoft Outlook: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, & Notes.

This will be a great way for an individual to get this training at a VERY affordable rate, and/or refresh and enhance your skills if you have already taken this program in the past.  This will be the second of a series of paid webinars I'll be hosting on Copper Conferencing throughout 2012 and into 2013 on ALL of my major topics (including SmartPhone Success, Using Google for Time Management, Ending the Office Clutter, and more!)

We will also be recording these programs for post-program sale and download, thus allowing for a full catalog of my most popular programs in coming months.

More info coming soon.  For now, just block the date and time on your calendar, and get ready to "Optimize Your Outlook".

App of the Month

My Tracks

My Tracks -- available on Google Play and is specifically for Android phones and devices w/ GPS.  A similar app called "Map My Tracks" has been developed for the IPhone -- get more info on this IPhone app here.

My Tracks is a great app for those of you that like to track your workouts, in just about any form.  This handy app (referred to me by frequent Timely Tips idea contributor Rob Chabot) will utilize your onboard GPS on your phone to fully track the geographic details of your workout.

If you go for a walk, hike, run, or ride, My Tracks will track your event with GPS accuracy.  It will give you the actual path (on a map!), distance covered, time covering that distance, average speed, and even your altitude change!  And, you can then share these workouts w/ your social media feeds, just to show off.  ;-)
