Greetings!
Spring is almost here, the snow is melting, and my family vacation is planned. I'm hoping we get some nice April weather here this March, so the long winter we've had can make a graceful exit and not return until the next holiday season!
And, with March, programs and activities are heating up again. Later this month (Monday, March 28 to be exact), one of my lead booking agents, Carol Grainger, CMP, will be hosting a speaker showcase in Lansing (see registration info to the right). If you are a meeting planner, training coordinator, or otherwise involved in the selection of professional/expert talent to bring to your next meeting or company training program, this is a great opportunity to see 10 great speakers/trainers (including yours truly immodestly) to determine if they would be right for your next event. If you feel you qualify as a meeting planner or training coordinator and would like to get a complimentary seat in this event, send me a direct note at randy@randalldean.com and I'll work with Carol to get you "in the door".
Now, I'd like to share some information on a pretty cool new Outlook add on app that I would bet a good number of the Outlook users in my subscriber base would be interested in:

Boomerang -- A Cool Add-On App for MS Outlook E-mail Users
| This is ALWAYS the place to look for your Timely Tip!
I don't normally promote paid add-on applications for MS Outlook, as I believe the onboard and embedded functions and capabilities are sufficient for nearly every business situation. But when I took a look at Boomerang, I realized that this one may be very attractive for a good number of you. In essence, it automates a process for a new e-mail to "disappear" for a desired period of time, and then reappear in your inbox when you both need to see and act on it. They have a pretty slick video tutorial on their web site that explains how this app works better than I can, but effectively it takes an e-mail that you need to act on later, moves it into the "Boomerang" folder, and then automatically puts it back in your inbox on the day you need to act on it. I will be the first to admit I'm not personally using this tool. I believe my process for using "drag & drop" in Outlook to either create a new task and/or calendar with an appropriate reminder works just about as well as the Boomerang app, but I also think that some of my readers may see how this tool works and think, "Hey, that works GREAT for me!" So, if you think the Boomerang app is a cool tool, send me a note after giving it a try and let me know how it worked for you.

So Happy It is Finally March!
January and February tend to beat on you a bit in this part of the country -- especially in a year like this. I hope you are all enjoying the same kind of beautiful sunny weather we have here today. Look for me in coming weeks at U. Michigan HRD, MSU HFS, St. Luke's Hospital in Iowa, Affordable Meetings Midwest at Navy Pier in Chicago, Iowa Bankers Association, Iowa Community Bankers Association, Indian Hills RELI in Iowa, and at the Houston IMA and Texas Council IMA Meetings in Houston and Dallas respectively.
Let me know if we might cross paths, and Think Spring!
Sincerely,
