Founded in May, 2009 by Meiners Oaks business owners and community members, we are a 501 (c)(4) non-profit organization with an elected Board of Directors. It is our goal to create a place where Meiners Oaks residents, business owners, artists and musicians can come together. We want to foster a sense of connection, support, and safety for all of us who love "MOTown".
We hold monthly meetings & mingles in Meiners Oaks.
We have sponsored or co-sponsored community events such as the Meiners Oaks Evening Stroll in September, Dia de Los Muertos Celebration in Oct. and the Meiners Oaks Holiday Stroll in Dec. 2009. These successful events featured art, live music, special discounts and sales from businesses, raffles with great prizes, food and fun!
Future projects include the creation of a Map and Directory of Meiners Oaks businesses, artists and services available in the Meiners Oaks area. We hope to hang a sign at the 5 points intersection, welcoming people to Meiners Oaks. Currently, we are planning a
'Meiners Oaks Solstice Festival' to be held on Sat., June 19, 2010 from 11-5. We will have live music, art, food, vendors, children's activities and more!
We invite community members who live or work in the area to join us by becoming a member of MOBAA, or a sponsor of our upcoming Solstice Festival. You can also volunteer to help!
