Dear Member:

New Year's 08

It's the start of a new year.  Happy New Year to you; let's hope 2009 surpasses 2008 in every possible way.  On the economic front, we will need to keep our eye on the bottom line - but that is nothing new for us.  Fortunately, our expenses are, in general, what we have expected and our revenues are based upon two major sources: initiation dues from new members and donations to the Foundation.  In both cases, we are about where we expected to be half way through our fiscal year.  Donations are always a question, but our members, such as you, have been willing to "step up" when needed.  I hope you will consider the extraordinary work we do to be worth your continued support!

Looking forward gives all of us the chance to consider new opportunities and respond to current and future challenges.  Let's all exhibit the leadership that brought us into the Society.  This may be to help our own Circle, the community in which we live or the broader world around us.  Service is the fundamental leadership characteristic that distinguishes us from other honoraries. We all are faced with choices each day;  I hope you will continue to exhibit the qualities of leadership and service for which you were invited to become a member of Omicron Delta Kappa.
