Leave YOUR Sprout
Lake Legacy
By: Noah Allen, Sprout Lake Alumnus
My wife Rena and I met at Sprout in 1996. Being 10 and 12 years old at the time, we could never have imagined just how much Sprout Lake would mean to us one day.16 years later we are married and building a Jewish, Zionist, and Sprout Lake inspired home. We have been active with the Alumni Committee and the Friends of Sprout Lake. We were approached to join the Nevatim Legacy Society and felt strongly about signing the letter of intent. By leaving a legacy gift we hope to insure that many generations of 'Sprouties' to come will benefit from the learning, the ruach and the lifelong friendships that we have.

| Sprout Lake Raises $400,000+ to Complete its "Chai Match"!
Sprout Lake is very, very proud to have successfully raised $432,000 as part of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation's "Chai Match" program, a competitive challenge grant for summer camps.
As one of 18 camps selected last year to participate in the Chai Match, Sprout Lake was chosen in large part because of its successful completion of the two previous Grinspoon matching programs, its professional and lay leadership team, and its exciting capital campaign to be announced this summer. Through challenge grants, the Grinspoon Foundation continues to pursue its mission of enhancing the long-term effectiveness of non-profit overnight camps and other organizations that engage young people in meaningful Jewish cultural and educational experiences.
Sprout Lake offers a giant TODAH RABAH to the 43 very generous "Chai Match" donors who pledged gifts of $1,800 to $108,000 to camp over the next three years to help fund scholarships and upcoming capital projects. Sprout Lake is privileged to have the continuous support of alumni, camp families, Hadassah members, and community leaders as it pursues its goal of "raising the bar chai-er and chai-er every summer."

Nadiv Fellow Hired!
Welcome Jessie Gindea! Sprout Lake and Solomon Schecter of Bergen County are thrilled to announce that Jessie Gindea has been hired as the Nadiv Fellow.

Jessie Silverman Gindea is a life long Young Judaean, having attended Camp Young Judaea Midwest, Tel Yehudah, and several YJ Isreal program. Presently, Jessie is a second-year student in the Pardes Educators Program in Jerusalem and will graduate in June from the Educators Program with a Master of Jewish Education degree and Certificate of Advanced Jewish Studies, as well as a Certificate in Jewish Day School Education from Hebrew College of Boston. Prior to studying at Pardes, she attended the Jewish Theological Seminary and Columbia University and earned a BA in Modern Jewish Studies from JTS and a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from Columbia. Jessie's path towards Jewish education began at Camp Young Judeae Midwest after her first fabulous summer at camp and she cannot wait to be a part of the educational team at CYJ Sprout Lake.
This groundbreaking program has several goals. The first is to experiment with a new model that is designed to further enhance the quality of education at Jewish camps in a sustainable way. The second objective is to create a new model for year-round positions for trained and talented Jewish educators, and the third is to model a new way to foster deeper collaboration between different institutions in the Jewish educational world.
You can meet Jessie this summer at Sprout. She will work as the Education Coordinator and be a wonderful addtion to our education team. She will begin her work at Solomon Schecter of Bergen County in the Fall as the Coordinator of Jewish Life.
