Street Team Meeting this Saturday in Boston!

Its not too late to join our Boston Street Team! Our team will be meeting this Saturday, April 26th, 11am at the South End Open Market parking lot (540 Harrison Ave).

Our group met last weekend and successfully distributed hundreds of posters all around the Boston Metro area. This Saturday we are handing our postcards. In exchange for your legwork we will give free days at the South End Open Market!

We could still use a few more helping hands.
Interested? Shoot Chris an email or give him a call to sign up.

Payment deadlines for the rest of the season are due 10 days prior to your scheduled Market date at a rate of $50 per Sunday. For example, if you are participating on June 15th payment is due on June 10th. If you are late or you choose to ignore the payment deadlines, a $25 fee will be added to your amount due. This new $75 fee MUST be received before or on your scheduled date.

Setup times for Opening Weekend and the rest of the 2008 season

Set-up times are assigned in groups. An email with the specific time for each vendor for Opening Weekend will be sent on Thursday, May 15th. at 12pm. We have 125 vendors booked, in order for setup to go as smoothly as possible we are assigning 4 setup times: 7:00am, 7:30am, 8:00am, 8:30am.

For Opening Weekend, set-ups MUST be broken down each day. We cannot secure the parking lot overnight on Saturday.

VERY IMPORTANT: All vendors must be prepared for set-up in the following manner:
  1. Arrive at your appointed set-up time
  2. Check in at entrance booth, a market employee will show you to your designated space
  3. Unload all of your set-up materials, then immediately park you car in the vendor parking area
  4. Return to your space and set up
  5. Tent weights are mandatory, if you do not have a set of 4 (weighing at least 40lbs each), you will not be able to participate
On regular Market Sundays, we have three setup times 7:30am, 8:00am & 8:30am. An email with your designated setup time will be sent every Friday by 12 noon.

Booths must be staffed during operating hours, from 10 am to 4 pm (Opening Weekend. 10am - 5pm). Vendors are not allowed to break down booths before the Market closes unless permission is first obtained from the Market Manager. Having cars drive down our aisles to pack up booth spaces is disruptive to our other vendors and possibly dangerous to our shoppers.

Other Parking Lot Rules

No smoking is permitted on Market grounds. If smoking is necessary, please be courteous and step away from our vendor spaces.

Parking for vendors will be at the rear of the lot in the old power station. You will be informed when you arrive for your set-up where that is. You are not permitted to park your car near your vendor space, and we ask that park in the back of our lot or inside the power station, so that we do not monopolize the street parking right out front of the Market.

Vendor Set Up / Purchasing Tents and Weights

The Market does NOT provide any set up materials (tables, chairs, tents) for any of the Market dates. It is the sole responsibility of a vendor to provide appropriate coverage. It is highly recommended to purchase a 10x10 tent, which can be found at the following retail locations around New England:

Costco *
BJ's Wholesale Club *
Ocean State Job Lot *
Home Depot
Lowe's
Sports Authority
Dicks Sporting Goods
Pep Boys

The price for tents average between $80 -$275.00. Be aware that some of the cheaper brands that are for use in back yards are not very stable. We've seen our share of cheap tents collapse after a good stiff breeze.. I highly recommend the EZ -UP brand, which is made out of thick aluminum and is reinforced under the canopy top for extra support. Ocean State Job has this tent on sale for around 150.00.

Tent Weights
Weights for tents are mandatory at each of our Markets. At least 40lbs per tent leg. For instructions on how to make your own and purchase, please click here.
