Greetings Holiday Market Vendors!
Plans are being finalized for the 2006 Sowa Holiday
Market,
and this email contains all the information you will
need for
your space assignment, set-up and take-down,
parking and
security questions. Many of the set-up and take-
down details
can be found on the web site under 'Vendor
Guidelines'. If
you have not done so, please take the time to
review the
entire page, there are many important details that
are not
listed in this email. Below is the vendor map, with a
listing of
designated space assignments. A hard copy of this
email has been mailed, along with your postcards and
a copy of the
Vendor Map. If you have any
questions,
please call Chris Masci @ 617-481-2257.

Space Assignments & Drop Off
Instructions
Set-up days are:
Friday 12/8 (6pm – 11pm)
Saturday 12/9 (7am-10am)
Please arrive at the side of the Cathedral Gym at
74
Union
Park Street. Unload your vehicle in line on the
sidewalk,
move your car to free parking at 540 Harrison
Ave,
one block
south.
Having an assistant or friend help unload and a
flatbed or
hand truck will be of great help moving in. It is
imperative
that all 75 vendors expedite unloading there vehicles
quickly.
If the parking spaces are occupied when you arrive
you will
need to circle the block until one becomes available.
No
double parking will be allowed. Thank you all in
advance for
you cooperation.
In case of inclement weather please be sure to bring
plastic
tarps or coverings to protect your property while
waiting
outside to enter the gym.
Space assignments are not moveable. Please note
that the
number of your space does not indicate a 'good'
or 'bad'
space. All spaces are visible and will have equal
space for
foot traffic to flow around. Rest assured, spaces
were
assigned so that vendors with similar product are not
close
together.
Set-Up
Each vendor will be provided with approximately 7' x
7' of
display space. The Holiday Market will not supply
tables,
chairs, table clothes, poles or drapes. All display
materials
are the responsibility of the individual vendors, no
outside
tents please. The spaces are pre-marked and the
parameters
must be adhered to. You or your representative must
be in/
near your space ALL hours Sowa Holiday Market is in
operation:
Saturday, December 9, 10am-8pm
Sunday, December 10, 10am - 6pm
All vendors must be out of the building no later than
20
minutes after the end of the event on Saturday. Feel
free to
secure your booth or items for overnight, but you
must time
it accordingly. No one will be allowed to stay past
the
designated time to secure their booth. The building is
secured
over night.
Fire Safety
Vendors are to offer for sale-finished products. No
live demonstrations of your art processes. Vendors
booths shall have NO ceilings, NO supplemental
power
or heating appliances. NO open flame for decorative
or display purposes shall be permitted. NO flammable
liquids, and NO materials that are known to
spontaneously combust, such as bales of hay
garland, wreaths, straw etc. All seasonal displays
must be artificial. Vendors furnishings, decorations,
or other objects shall not be placed as to obstruct
the view or use of an EXIT, EXIT ACCESS, or EXIT
DISCHARGE.
Lighting
The Cathedral gymnasium has very bright overhead
lights.
These will be on for the duration of the Market.
Because the
gym is not wired for outlets in the middle of its
space, there
will be no electric outlets available for vendors.
Everyone will
have only the lighting provided overhead.
Keep Your Space Neat!
All vendors are responsible for the clean up of their
own
trash. Please bring a trash bag and remove your
trash every
day.
Take-Down
Artists can begin take-down at 6pm on
Sunday,
December
10th, but no sooner. All work must be removed
from
the
space at the close of the Holiday Market on Sunday,
December 10th. This includes personal trash also.
Vendors
who leave trash to be picked up by the staff or
security will
assessed a $50 fine and not be allowed to return for
this or
any future shows.
