Greetings!

Late Breaking News - Listen to Your Customers

The McKinsey Quarterly (Issue 4, 2007) interviewed quality guru Armand Feigenbaum. He talked about how customer messages don't get through. Consequently, quality efforts often tackle things that aren't all that important to the customer. McKinsey asked what organizations should do. Feigenbaum said, "It's not particularly complicated - and I'm afraid that's where the problem lies: the message seems too trivial for some people. Ask your customers. Don't assume you know what they want. Talk to them - personally. How many CEOs still meet their customers in person? Have top managers visited customers in the past quarter? The answer is a key indicator of their quality leadership."

I think this same advice applies inside organizations. How many executives actually talk to employees - personally? Not through employee surveys or town hall meetings, but personally? This would require actually talking and listening to people. What a concept.

I know that Feigenbaum isn't saying anything new to readers of my newsletter. But I thought you might like to hear what he had to say. I was especially taken by the phrase "seems too trivial."

The Change without Migraines Formula is Ready

Unless something really bad happens, we will announce the release of the Change without Migraines Formula at 9:30 AM EST tomorrow (November 28).

Kris, who did all the design and production called me yesterday. You could hear the excitement in her voice. She had the guidebook and CDs in her hand and was bubbling over. Since she lives about 800 miles from me, I won't get to see the actual finished product until today. But her excitement was contagious.

Many of you have sent me notes expressing interest and sending along your congratulations. Thank you. That means a lot to me. Tomorrow, I will send you an e-mail announcing the launch of the program. And I promise that I will not fill your inbox with lots of e-mails about the Change without Migraines Formula. Please look for an e-mail with the subject line: [Rick Maurer] Change without Migraines Formula is Ready!

I hope you'll take a look at my offer and tell me what you think. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Rick Maurer
