ANNUAL MEETING ON JANUARY 25

The Annual Parish Meeting is Sunday, January 25th, beginning with the 10:00 AM service and continuing with a simple lunch, parish elections and business meeting in the parish hall following the service.  (Child care and activities during the business meeting will be available.)  All parishioners are encouraged to take part in the meeting and become aware of the many aspects of our lively parish life.

Of particular joy to me during this past year is the calling of Hall Kirkham, our Assistant Rector; Andrew Shenton, our Music Director; and Beth Graham, our Church School Coordinator.  Together with Parish Secretary Mercer Riis, Junior Choir Director Kristen Dirmeier and Facilities Manager Harry Goodale, I believe we now have the staff leadership we need as we strive to move forward in all aspects of our parish life.  I am also greatly encouraged by both the ongoing and emerging lay parishioner leadership, without which we would be greatly impoverished.

One of the most visible changes this fall was the introduction of a new service structure at the 10:00 AM service of Holy Communion.  The Book of Common Prayer provides for a variety of ways by which our worship life seeks to provide for the sacramental and educational nurture of parishioners of all ages.  When the current pattern was begun in September, I said that we would  evaluate it after we had some experience with it.  I am appreciative of the many comments which have been offered, both positive and cautionary.  During the spring, we will have appropriate opportunities for interested parishioners to join in the evaluation process, and I am grateful for the patience and support of everyone in this important process.
