TRANSITIONS
It is cliché to observe that
the only constant in life is change, but it is nevertheless a true and
important observation. This time of year, the reality of change
is often a dominant theme in our schedules. Weddings, baptisms,
confirmations, graduations and the like are typically observed with
both formal ceremonies and relaxed times of celebration and fellowship.
We find ourselves reflecting on what has occurred in our lives to bring
us to these special occasions, and looking forward with a mixture of
anticipation and anxiety towards what might lie ahead.
Our spiritual journey (although
we might not always choose to call it that) is not so different.
When we gather for worship, we engage in a shared celebration of what
has informed and supported the people of faith over the centuries before
our time. At the same time, we admit to the mixture of anticipation
and anxiety which attends the future which, in the end, is in God's
hands.
I hope that whatever times
of transition may be in your life this year, they are life-giving ones. |

Outreach Update
B-SAFE Program, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, June 30-July 03
This summer, St. Peter's will serve as a partner church for one week as part of a larger effort of the Episcopal Diocese to serve over 350 children and teens at 6 sites in the Boston area in a six week summer day camp. The B-SAFE program provides academic enrichment, sports, field trips, good food, community, and a safe place for kids, plus jobs for older teens. Last summer, over 40 parishioners participated in a week-long sponsorship of B-SAFE, and it was a wonderful, enriching experience. Partner churches provide a week of food (lunch and snack) at one site plus organize and fund a field trip on the last day of the week (which will be Thursday, July 3). St. Stephens will provide for 60 middle school students, and jobs for 10 counselors. Please help make this program a success, while investing in the lives of youth, and give some time. Contact Ron Corley or call me at 617 512-9610 to volunteer of get more information.
PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING US A HAND! IT ONLY TAKES A FEW HOURS TO MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE! You can help shop, prepare a lunch or snack (evening or AM), help deliver and serve the food, or help on the field trip.

Land's Sake Strawberry Festival - Saturday, June 21 Volunteers welcome, desired, and rewarded (in-kind :)
You need only be willing and energetic to have a great, positive impact on the Strawberry Festival while having some fun connecting with the land and your neighbors. Land's Sake can use your help on Saturday anytime between 8 am and 6 pm.
To volunteer, contact Alicia at alicia@landssake.org or talk to Ned Rossiter (el grande presidente of the Board). Your strong hands and enthusiastic participation would be invaluable for 2 hours or 10 (though that would be WAY! beyond the call).
If you'd like to know more about Land's Sake, speak to Ned or any of the St. Peter's parishioners who have been involved in some way with Land's Sake, including (but not limited to!) Sarah Strong, John Marchiony, Carolyn Ellis and John Bulbrook (who have helped out regularly at the festival), Margaret Randle, Janice and Ron Corley, Polly Dickson, and Marty Rodgers.
The Strawberry Festival is next Saturday, June 21! Please make haste to add your name to corps of happy volunteers.

Something to Think About This Week
What
other features should we incorporate into the eKeys? If any of the
following ideas strike you as interesting, please send an email to thanks@stpetersweston.org (which goes to the entire eKeys publishing team).
1.
"My Turn," in which parishioners share reactions, thouughts, and
recommendations based on the thoughts and feelings they had in response
to the week's readings, sermon, or interactions with other parishioners
during the week. 2. "Where's the Spirit," in which parishioners share how the Holy Spirit has been present in their lives recently. 3. "Why I Do What I Do," in which parishioners share why they are involved in particular ministries at St. Peter's. 4. And how do you like the image at the top with tulips????
We'll
plan to share the ideas we receive and solicit ongoing feedback (maybe
even through a survey when there's "critical mass.")
If any of the preceeding ideas struck you as interesting, please send an email to thanks@stpetersweston.org (which goes to the entire eKeys publishing team).
