There is so much activity going on outdoors as the flowers and trees are blooming.  Be a part of the great outdoors and get your daily dose of vitamin D from the sunshine.  Vitamin D can help stave off sickness, depression and more.  As a matter of fact, people who live closer to the equator have been shown to get sick less often than in other areas of the world!  Walk outside and then enjoy this easy and delicious side dish/meal, Quinoa with Sauteed Spinach to help you feel better when you pull on your shorts!  Also, please feel free to forward this newsletter and post any comments on my facebook page and be sure to click on the Like button to the right.  Like us on Facebook

Does Fat Really Make You Fat?

foods high in saturated fats
No fat. Low fat. We've all been conditioned to think that these words lead to good health. The truth is that we NEED fat. Yes, the saturated fats such as meat, dairy products, some oils (olive and coconut) and tropical plants (coconuts and avocadoes). In fact, when you eat fats as part of your meal, they slow down absorption so that you can go longer without feeling hungry. That's why non-fat foods make you feel more hungry.   There is nothing in them that makes you feel full. The brain doesn't get the message to stop eating. Also, fats make food taste better. However, with non-fat or low fat foods, click here to read more

Where's the Beef?

US Wellness Meats
Is there really a difference between regular supermarket meat, dairy and poultry and the organic grass fed variety?  You bet...lots!  Think about it, we picture cows and chickens naturally roaming in a pasture munching on grass.  Were they really meant to be confined in pens or stalls until they were used for consumption?  Were they also meant to eat man-modified hormone and anti-biotic corn feeds?  The latter unfortunately describes most of the meat and dairy we buy.  You have to wonder how that affects our bodies.  Well, if want to get back to basics and eat the way nature intended us to eat, there is a great alternative.  I discovered U.S. Wellness Meats where I order my organic, grass fed meat, poultry and butter.  Quality of your food truly makes the difference.  Please check out  The Grass Fed Difference for a better understanding and enjoy!
