2012 NMC Summer Conference, MIT

If you only go to one NMC event per year, it should be the Summer Conference! From June 12-15, don't miss this opportunity to learn about the latest edtech developments and creative applications, hear from industry thought leaders, and participate in discussions with your peers that will shape the future of education -- with MIT and Boston as the backdrop.

Oh, and did we mention that Lord David Puttnam is receiving this year's NMC Fellows Award and delivering the closing keynote? People will be talking about his presentation "Education -- No Silver Bullet?" for years to come, so why not experience it firsthand?

We also want you to get the best deal possible on registration. The early bird special ends May 10, so register soon. Just think of all the sweet Boston souvenirs the money you save can go towards...

NMC Member Spotlight
Congratulations to the innovative folks at the University of Minnesota for creating an Open Academic Textbook Catalog! In an effort to reduce higher education costs for students, one college at the University of Minnesota dreamed up this tool to help faculty find more affordable textbook options. The Open Academic Textbook Catalog is a searchable online catalog of "open textbooks" that will be reviewed by U of M faculty.

Open textbooks are published under a license that enables students to get free or low-cost versions of their textbooks online, electronically, or in print. The Open Academics catalog is the first of its kind hosted at a major research institution. It is available to faculty worldwide.

Want to see your institution's project featured in the next edition of the "NMC Pulse?" Email communications@nmc.org

A big welcome to the two newest members to join the NMC! We're thrilled to have the University of Denver and College of William & Mary  in the NMC Member Community!

Not a member yet? Crying shame. Thousands of your edtech peers are waiting for you.
