Introducing the Horizon EdTech Weekly App
At the NMC, we're very proud of the Horizon Project. After 10 years of research and documenting edtech innovation, we wanted to do something that would reach an even wider audience and help inform the decisions educators make. Now available in iTunes, the Horizon EdTech Weekly App is the product of this idea. It delivers curated, relevant, and timely edtech projects and news every weekend, the entire NMC Horizon Report series on emerging technology across various learning sectors, and a rich, searchable, re-mixable database of educational technology and innovation resources -- all directly to your iPad or iPhone.

Findings from the 2012 Horizon Project Retreat In honor of the 10th anniversary of the NMC Horizon Project, we hosted a retreat to discuss the next decade of teaching, learning, and creative inquiry. Over 100 thought leaders from all over the globe, all previous Horizon Project Advisory Board members, congregated at this event, tucked away in the beautiful, secluded Hyatt Lost Pines. Everything about the retreat was intense -- from the six-minute keynotes to the small and large group discourse to the organized flurry of reflections, ideas, and solutions that covered the walls of the meeting space. What came out of this two-day event was a set of 10 metatrends that we believe will shape the next ten years of education. These metatrends are described in an official communiqué and are the catalyst of a special Horizon Report edition coming out later this year. The six-minute videos (like the one of Ruben Puentedura, above) will also serve as an inspiration and guide for activities within the NMC community.

NMC Corporate Partners
The NMC has always been fortunate to have partners who help make our events, publications, and projects possible. Our partners truly reflect and are constantly working towards the edtech innovation we talk about in the NMC Horizon Report series. We are pleased to announce our new partnership with Kaltura, an amazing open source video platform.
We also invite you to attend a new, free series of webinars from our partner lynda.com. Every Wednesday at 11 am Central US time, they will show you how to navigate the lynda.com Online Training Library, give you tips and tricks for using this resource on campus, and much more. To RSVP for an upcoming webinar, contact Paige O'Brien at pobrien@lynda.com.
