| RedNite - a Unique Performance-Enhancing Nutraceutical from Beetroot |
|
RedNite is an innovative, fresh beetroot juice ingredient containing 1.5% natural nitrate. It's completely water-soluble, non-GMO, allergen-free and vegetarian-friendly.
Why Nitrate?
Until recently, nitrate and nitrite were viewed as harmful substances in our diet or inert metabolites of endogenous nitric oxide. However, accumulating evidence suggests that the nitrate-nitrite-nitric oxide pathway can be used to maintain health and enhance performance.
Research has shown that beetroot nitrate: 1) widens blood vessels, reducing blood pressure and allowing more blood flow and 2) acts on muscle tissue, reducing the amount of oxygen needed by muscles during activity. These combined effects have a significant impact on the performance of physical tasks, whether it involves low-intensity or high-intensity effort, and could benefit endurance athletes, elderly people and those with heart or respiratory diseases.

| Finomate® (Green Mate Extract) Reduces Body Fat Within Six Weeks |
|
Traditional use and a growing body of evidence indicates that green mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) may be helpful in losing excessive weight and fat.
A recent randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled human study evaluated the efficacy and safety of Finomate®, the green mate extract from Frutarom Switzerland, in 60 overweight subjects aged 20-39 years for a period of 6-weeks.
Taking green mate extract reduced body fat (measured in fat % and fat mass) after 6 weeks, and the treatment was safe and well tolerated

| MenaQ7® Significantly Improves Bone Strength and Prevents Cardiovascular Ageing |
|
NattoPharma recently announced the results of their milestone 3-year clinical trial investigating the beneficial effects of nutritional doses of natural vitamin K2 (MenaQ7®) on bone and vascular health.
MenaQ7 supplementation provided protection of the most vulnerable bone structures i.e. vertebrae and the hip. Importantly, clinical improvement at the site of the femoral neck only became evident after 2 to 3 years of MenaQ7 supplementation. The MenaQ7 trial also showed substantial benefits in preventing age-related stiffening of arteries, and in an unprecendented finding, MenaQ7 supplementation resulted in improvement of vascular elasticity.
This impressive data was presented at Vitafoods in Geneva a few weeks ago by Dr. Cees Vermeer, Principal Investigator at VitaK laboratory at Maastricht University. For more info visit www.nattopharma.com |

Webinar: AstaReal® Astaxanthin - The Effective Way to Delay Skin Ageing - 13th June 2012 |
|
The interest in astaxanthin as an anti-wrinkle agent is growing among researchers due to its natural capacity to lower oxidative stress levels. Oxidative stress has been shown to have a major impact in the process of skin ageing by reducing the elasticity and moisture in the skin.
Several animal and human studies have demonstrated the positive effects of astaxanthin on skin elasticity and moisture. Astaxanthin's strong antioxidant capacity and its protective effects against solar irradiation enable it to shield skin cells from free radical damage and preserve the collagen layer which leads to a smooth and youthful appearance of the skin.
In this webinar, an overview of the clinical data on AstaReal® astaxanthin and its mechanisms of action in skincare will be given. The webinar will take place on Wednesday 13th of June at 14:00 SA time, and you are invited to join in!
