Join Wonder Women, partners, friends and allies for an emotional, meaningful and fun-filled event as we present a great evening of inspiring words and live entertainment from our select guests especially for you.

Breast Cancer affects our mothers, sisters, daughters, best friends and our communities. PLEASE help us in this battle. Your participation and efforts do matter as we fund raise toward our shared vision of a world without breast cancer! Proceeds will support the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Komen Greater NYC, and Team Lion Heart. If you cannot be present, consider supporting the effort by purchasing a ticket.

You will be inspired by our speakers: Kathleen van Rijn, founder of Lion Heart, a two time breast cancer survivor and Wonder Women's beloved board member and keynote speaker, Dara Richardson-Heron MD, the Komen Greater NYC CEO, also a survivor.

Kicking off our line up of great entertainers for the evening will be Melissa Rey, whose title track "Wonder Woman" was the theme song for film "Gun Hill Road" which received rave reviews at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Wonder Women's music producer and DJ extraordinaire, Charo Valecio will be providing the grooves.

A message from Kathleen van Rijn

On September 18, we will meet on the steps of the Museum of Natural History, Central Park West at 8.30 am.

This will be Lion Heart's fifth year and the need has never been greater. During this past year one team member was diagnosed with breast cancer and another suffered a recurrence. When I walked last September it was only five weeks after my second mastectomy. We are only three of the nearly 200,000 American women diagnosed in the last twelve months with breast cancer and this is why I walk and why I raise money. As I often say and have always believed, money matters in this battle.

The weekend, the race, the fellowship, the memories, the emotion and the effort make this event and the weekend unique, unforgettable and important.

For team members who register too late, I will pick up the race bibs and other materials before the race. Your registration fee is not a donation. It covers administrative and race costs only.
