Join CAP for Pride!

Find CAP at the Pride waterfront festival this Saturday & Sunday between noon and 6pm. Stop by and check out the new look for AIDS Walk Portland.  Register for the walk and get a cool gift.

We'll also have interactive games, trivia and fun giveaways. Come learn about some of CAP's new programs, have fun, and win some prizes. You can even get your photo taken by the Pivot crew for a take home memorabilia from Pride!

And who doesn't love a parade? It's even better when you're a part of it! Join us and march with CAP! We will meet at 10am at Pivot on Sunday, June 19th, before we walk over to our designated parade spot. We'll have sign-making supplies and refreshments, plus you can bring a tee shirt to decorate and wear in the parade! We're encouraging people to help us be green and bring their own refillable water bottle. Please RSVP to Marc to help us plan for how many people will be coming. Click here for more info about the parade!

Portland Black Pride

  Black Pride

Say It Loud! The Portland Black Chapter of PFLAG, Cascade AIDS Project and Multnomah County are taking the lead to have the most exciting Portland Black Pride ever! With help from PSU and A6, we are also getting support from local vendors including the Local Lounge, Crush, and Skate World. We've planned something for everyone who is a member of the Black Gay Community!  The most exciting outcome is that we've established a Black Pride committee that will host ongoing events over the next year to guarantee an even more exciting Black Pride in 2012!

Please come out and celebrate with us from June 15 - 19. Click here for event details!

Portland Latino Gay Pride "CelebrAcción" - July 14th-17th

This year's Latino Gay Pride has been pushed back to July to offer the community a "Bigger, Better, Hotter... and Later" celebration! Cascade AIDS Project is excited to be part of the planning process this year, and we look forward to a fabulous event that offers something for everyone. As returning sponsors in partnership with Washington County Health Department, we hope you can join us in the celebration!

Pivot's Pride Art Installation: Jeffrey Horvitz

 Pivot

Pivot is proud to welcome the 2011 Pride season with the opening of a brand new art installation by renowned Portland photographer Jeffrey Horvitz!

The installation features a prominent downtown street window display on Fourth Avenue between Oak and Pine, of six men painted in the rainbow flag. Inside Pivot, eleven Pride-themed images fill the space with the vibrant energy associated with Pride season. Horvitz' images feature community members in Pride themed attire, at Pride events, and getting creative with the rainbow colors.

Pride is a special season for Pivot (formerly the Men's Wellness Center), a community space for gay, bi, and trans men. This Pride marks five years since opening our doors, and one year since the rebrand to Pivot. It is with this spirit of celebration that Pivot is delighted to feature Horvitz' creative work showcasing local community members.

Horvitz' exhibit opens June 1st and is available for viewing during Pivot's open hours, Wednesday through Saturday between 3-9pm through the month of June. Pivot is located at 209 SW 4th Avenue in downtown Portland. (Please note, Pivot will be closed the Friday and Saturday of Pride so staff can focus on the Pride festival.)

Be sure to look for Pivot during Pride weekend. They will be rocking out at the waterfront festival, in the parade, and around the block parties!

Be Part of the Revolution!

 Revolution
Revolution! combines Randall Thompson's Testament of Freedom with Robert Seeley's renowned NakedMan to make a powerful statement and continued call for life and liberty for all. The ethos and spirit of these sentiments rang true in the 18th century when Thomas Jefferson first penned the words from which Thompson takes inspiration, and as true as they did in the 1990s when Seeley composed the songs reflecting the many facets of the gay experience, including the AIDS crisis and the initial calls for marriage equality.

Scandals Block Party

Block Party

Each year, our friends at Scandals rub the city's red-tape raw,

close SW Stark Street and hold a 3-day block party, all for the sake of Gay Pride and to raise money in support of Cascade AIDS Project's mission.

This year, Scandals has dubbed the party "Odyssey" and promises almost 3 full days of music, libations and friends! Come help open your Pride Weekend on June 17th with us at Scandals, then come back Saturday for a day of upbeat dancing, and stay into the night for live and DJ'd music.

Finish your weekend with us as well with a Sunday June 19th party that tops all others.  Make it memorable, be proud, join the Odyssey!
