Phoenix Contact QUINT UPS-IQ |
Gain the ability to visually check the status of your batteries with The QUINT UPS-IQ from Phoenix Contact. Previously, UPS solutions for industrial control cabinets were basic units that performed a battery back-up function in the event of a main line power loss. However, these units could not provide an indication of the connected battery's condition.
The QUINT UPS-IQ is ideal for any situation where battery backup is needed and mission-critical systems cannot lose power. IQ-Technology makes QUINT unique by providing an adaptive battery management on several levels: State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SOH), and State of Function (SOF).
Features and benefits
Narrow package design provides a reduced footprint - Easy handling of the batteries through Serial ID Number and easy removal of battery cores without tools
- Power Boost for increased system capacity of up to 1.5 times the nominal current
- SFB functionality providing up to six-times the nominal current for 12 milliseconds
- Fast charging for faster recovery of the battery module
- Decoupled UPS input protects from a short circuit upstream from the UPS
- Cutback of the charging current in the event of a power supply overload
- Can be used with or without the UPS-Config software, providing easy implementation
- Auto recognition of the external battery module means no need to manually select the battery size for charging currents
- Communication interface with USB enables monitoring and configuration by PC or 24 V industrial PCs
- Configuration stick provides the ability to transfer programming configurations from one UPS to another for quick deployment of multiple systems

Hirschmann MACH1040 Switch | |

Belden has introduced a new Layer 3 software that makes it possible to use all Gigabit Ethernet switches Hirschmann™ MACH1040 family as routers. Using wire-speed technology makes for extremely fast functions, which include not only static and dynamic routing, but also multicast routing (DVMRP, IGMPv1/v2/v3, PIM-DM) and router redundancy (VRRP, OSPFv2, RIPv1/v2).
Hirschmann™ MACH1040 switches are designed specifically for use in the power industry. They can be connected to form sub-networks, which in turn can be linked up to each other. Thanks to their fanless design, their ability to withstand temperatures from -40°C to +70°C and their Fast HIPER Ring redundancy mechanism, these switches guarantee the highest degree of availability for production facilities. Moreover, they also support Profinet and EtherNet/IP.
MACH1040 switches meet a wide variety of standards and have a range of approvals - including IEC 61850, IEEE 1613, EN 50121-4, EN 50155, NEMA TS2, cUL 508, cUL 1604 C1 Div2 and GL - and they offer both high vibration-resistance and extensive resilience to magnetic fields and electrostatic discharges. Two freely combinable power modules (24/48 VDC, 110/230 VAC and DC) are available to ensure redundant power supply.
The 16-Gigabit Ethernet combo ports (10/100/1000 BASE-TX), which can be optionally equipped with SFP fiber optic transceivers (100/1000 BASE-FX/SX/LX/LH), allow flexible configuration of fast networks with different topologies, which can be altered or expanded at a later stage without incurring additional costs. In addition, all ports support Version 2 of the Precision Time Protocol (IEEE 1588 V2) with a precision of 30ns and, as an optional extra, Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af).
Equipped with the latest in energy-saving chip technology, MACH1040 switches are designed to be mounted in 19" switch cabinets. The robust metal housing measures 448 x 44 x 310 mm (width x height x depth). The Gigabit Ethernet combo ports are located either on the front or the rear of the housing. The switches boot up in just ten seconds. A USB interface, via which the auto-configuration adapter ACA 21-USB can be connected, is available for storing and, if necessary, retrieving all configuration data as well as the operating system.
MACH1040 Key Features:
- 16 GE ports with non-blocking
- Precision timing IEEE1588v2 on board, accuracy within 30 ns on all ports
- Highest flexibility through 16 GE combo ports, SFP slots support GE or FE SFPs
- Extensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 software
- Full wire-speed routing
- Fastest ring recovery time with <10ms Extremely fast boot time: <10 seconds
- Fast and easy device exchange with ACA21-USB
- High operational safety through:
- High vibration resistance
- Immunity to electrostatic discharge and magnetic fields
- Fanless cooling
- Redundant power supply
