OKATIE ORGANICS
and SAVANNAH HYDROPONICS

Andrew is a self taught gardener extraordinaire who loves to share his passion. He opened Savannah Hydroponics & Organics in January 2009 to fill the need for a local source of specialty gardening and hydroponic supplies here in the Lowcountry. Born in southern California to a family that exposed him to gardening, recycling, and composting at an early age, he was taught to live "green" before the term "green" was even popular. Andrew lived in Lake Tahoe for eight years, which is where his love for growing plants truly emerged. With snow on the ground up to eight months of the year, he started using lighting and hydroponic systems to grow plants year round indoors. He then lived in Hawaii for almost two years where between his jobs as a boat captain he helped his friends with a gardening store in Maui. He found his way to the Lowcountry via Harbor Town Marina after a period living and working on yachts. For the last five years, he put his roots down in Okatie, South Carolina with his girlfriend Julie Markey and their two dogs, Chelsea and Cody Carolina. Andrew opened his second store in Okatie, South Carolina, October 2011. Since opening Andrew and Julie have participated in many community events in and around Beaufort and Chatham Counties. They enjoy sharing their passion with others and teaching them to grow their own crops at home. Come "Learn To Grow With Us" and see how rewarding and fun it can be!
