AVZ is proud to announce that Jill K. Gunzel of Smithtown has been promoted to Principal.

A member of the firm's Accounting & Auditing and Business & Strategic Planning practices, Ms. Gunzel serves the firm's government clients exclusively. She assists her clients with accounting systems and controls, budgeting and planning, and guides them through the compliance requirements of Federal, State and other regulatory agencies. Ms. Gunzel specializes in the preparation of governmental financial statements, particularly Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports. She began her career in accounting with AVZ in 1999 where she was promoted to supervisor in 2003 and to manager in 2005.

Ms. Gunzel, 34, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration - Accounting from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), and the Government Finance Officers' Association (GFOA).
