Greetings!
Today we celebrate the God's wonderful plan of our redemption: the life, death, and resurrection of our Messiah! Here is a poem to honor my King on this special day. With Messiah in the Garden I walked with Him in the Garden In the cool of the day. But then sin led me astray And He went away But He promised He would come again. Then the world was steeped in sin, and nary a man did what he ought. So He showed Noah how to build a boat That held all His creatures, but still could float Because He promised He would come again. The Father showed Abraham His eternal plan "Go to the mountain - slay the promised one." Father Abraham believed in the resurrection, So he raised the knife to kill his son. But God said "not yet" and provided the ram. In Egypt we were slaves of the Wicked Man, So God told Moses - "To Pharoah you must go!" Ten times He put on a miraculous show, God slew the first born, and brought Pharoah much woe. But for us He devised the Passover Plan. King Saul pursued David; He tried to upset the plan. David hid in a cave, so Saul was disappointed. For David was truly God's annointed, And from his line a future King would be appointed: The promised Messiah, He would be The Man. The Prophets all wrote of this wondrous plan: Jeremiah warned that we all must repent, But Ezekiel into exile was sent. Isaiah spoke of the Suffering Servant, And Daniel saw the coming of the Son of Man. Five hundred years passed until the Son of Man, Messiah, was sent into God's Holy City. "Repent and believe!" and God will show mercy. He healed the sick; He bore our iniquity. He died on the cross for the sins of woman and man. But God raised Him up that Heaven would be open. Our debt of sin has been paid, By the One who in the tomb was laid, God's resurrection power was displayed To prove to us that all has been forgiven. Now for two thousand years we have been anticipatin' The return of our King, Of Him we will sing And raise our offering To the One who will bring us back to the Garden! Let us rejoice today, and glorify the God with whom we will spend eternity! Have a blessed Easter. |
