Greetings!

Satan is the great counterfeiter. He is the deceiver (Rev. 12:9). And his masterpiece of deception is the Roman religion. Satan's religion is headed by a counterfeit father (the Pope), has a counterfeit Jesus (a piece of bread), a counterfeit prophet (Mary), and a counterfeit gospel. And to promote this counterfeit gospel, Pope Benedict XVI has called for a "New Evangelization." The purpose of this effort is to re-evangelize the post-Christian West. The New Evangelization is the papacy's counterfeit evangelism. It promotes a false Christian unity. It uses Christian sounding terms like "conversion", and "encounter with Jesus" but invests them with a totally different meaning.

Rome's "gospel" centers around "The Church." Salvation is parceled out by the papacy, primarily through its counterfeit sacraments. So, the New Evangelization is also Church-centered. January 18 to January 25 is the "Week of Prayer for Christian Unity." This is a joint effort of Rome and the World Council of Churches that seeks to overturn the "tragedy of the Reformation." Perhaps your church is having a service to promote this prayer for unity.

I urge you to pray for disunity this week. The Reformation was not a tragedy that caused division within the Church! It is not scandalous that evangelicals are separate from the Mother Church. And "evangelization" is not our goal - we do not want to be united with the papacy in bringing in the Kingdom of Christ.

The goal of the "New Evangelization" is to "evangelize" six sectors: the culture, society and globalization, social communications, the economy, scientific and technological research, and civic and political life. This reflects the top-down approach that Rome takes in her "evangelization."

Here is an article by former priest Richard Bennett that outlines the papacy's strategy for organizing global religious, economic and political activities.
