Dear Gathering  Congregational Leaders:

Are we there yet???
Like all of you we are in the final stages of preparation. Our Prayer for all of you is sanity in the midst of chaos and to take time to remember what the event is all about. This will be the last Synod newsletter prior to the Gathering. Any additional last minute information will be emailed to to the Primary Leaders. May God grant you safe travel and an encounter with a loving God at loose in the world.
  • The National Gathering Office is in the process of transitioning to New Orleans so any communication with them may be temporarily delayed.
  • All adult leaders will receive a printed hard-copy of the Gathering Guidebook, but it is also posted on the download page on the Gathering website: www.elca.org/gathering.  Please read it through, as it has tons of information, both practical and inspirational!
  • The Gathering Communication Media team has prepared a video to explain the Registration Process. You can watch it here 
  • T-shirts:Everyone will receive an orange T-shirt from the National Gathering at registration. This is to be worn on the Practice Justice Day (Thursday)Those of you who ordered the Blue NESynod t-shirts may wear them at your discretion. I will have a very limited number of T-shirts available at our Practice Discipleship Day Gathering on Friday available on a first come basis. The form from Thrivent must be completed in order to receive one.

Additional Information and Opportunities from Dave
 
Here are the additional needs and opportunities that I have for youth and adult leaders to be involved in worship, and in the Practice Discipleship Day:
  • Ten Adult leaders who will not be the small group leaders to run prayer stations during the Learning curriculum.
  • Reminder:  one adult leader from each congregation will need to serve as a small group leader.
  • Needed: One youth group to help perform a pre-written skit during the PD learning time.
