We had a great final preparation meeting on April 14th with over 50 adult leaders participating.  Wells Challenge
We are a church that rolls up our sleeves and gets to work. This year, ELCA youth will join together to do just that through the 100 Wells Challenge.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 in 2012 to support the water projects of ELCA World Hunger where they are needed most. Just think, $250,000 could mean 100 wells -- each one with the potential of bringing clean water to 500 families at a time.
Bring your offering to the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans or donate now. The 30,000+ young people attending the ELCA Youth Gathering in July will bring their offering (individual or collective cash or checks) to New Orleans -- look for our giant collection space in the Interaction Center!

Housing Reminder
Make hotel reservations now! 
Primary Leaders from congregations need to print out their Confirmation Letters - including Hotel Reservation Form/Rooming List, which you will complete and send to your assigned hotel, along with your deposit. Here is what to do:
- From the Gathering website, log in to your congregational account, using first your congregational ID number, and then the email address used when you initially registered.
- You will be directed to a page that says: "Registration for Congregation #00000" (your ID).
- At the bottom of that page is the heading "Print Forms."
- Click on the "Print" button to open and print your Confirmation Letter.
- Review your group's registration. The hotel's address is printed on the form. The amount of your deposit is also printed. You may pay that with a check or by credit card.
- Fill out your rooming list to send to the hotel. King rooms have spaces for two names. Triple rooms (kings plus rollaways) have spaces for three names. Double/doubles have spaces for four names.
At this time, the Gathering cannot make changes to your assignment. Because synods are housed together, we encourage you to connect with your synod coordinator to determine if there are any spots to fill within other congregational room assignments.
All currently registered congregations have been assigned to hotels. Due to rooming block constraints, congregations who registered after January 15, 2012, may have been placed in a different hotel than the rest of their synod. The Gathering staff has tried to keep these congregations near to the rest of their synod.
All Gathering hotels will receive a list of congregations that have been assigned to them, and will monitor that list as reservations come in.
If you find, after working with your synod coordinator, that you need additional sleeping rooms, please contact the Gathering by email only. We cannot accommodate phone calls about housing. Include your congregational ID number, the nature of your request, and send to gathering@elca.org. We still have time to work with you to problem-solve.
All hotel reservations must be made by May 15, 2012 - after that date the hotel may release your rooms. |

2012 ELCA Youth Gathering Final Registration Payments
Final Gathering Registration payments must be made in full by May 26th! Remember to put your congregational ID number in the memo line of your check. Please send final payment to:

Final NESynod Gathering T-Shirt Order
Deadline for Final order is Tuesday, May 15th.
- For those who have not yet requested t-shirts
- For those who ordered T-shirts for the Final Prep Meeting but did not attend, you need to reorder your t-shirts.
- For those who received their T-shirts at the Final Prep Meeting but need more.
How to order:
Email sizes and number to Pastor Tim Roser. Pastor Tim will email you a form to be filled out for each person requesting a t-shirt as required by Thrivent Financial which is providing the t-shirts.

 Hint of the Month
35,000 kids. How do you gather up your group after the big events? Use a bright colored umbrella or an inflatable toy to hold up high so your group can find you. The tackier the better!
