Gift designated for ELCJHL Libraries Project
In January, we announced that the New England Synod is planning a special celebration to thank Bishop Margaret G. Payne, who retires Aug. 31 after having served as our synod bishop for 12 years. This afternoon of fun and fellowship will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, Mass., beginning with a cocktail hour at noon and then dinner from 1-2 p.m. Brief comments and dancing to great music will follow. Cost is $45 per person. On or around May 1, you will have the opportunity to RSVP online and purchase tickets. Also being planned is a way for people to contribute to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land Libraries Project: Opening a World of Opportunities in honor of Bishop Payne.
