The NESynod 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering Network

Dear Gathering  Congregational Leaders:

 

Dave & Tim are back from New Orleans with tons of info to share.  

 

Please have at least one adult advisor from your group attend the critically important April 14th Final Prep Meeting.  

 

Other info:

  • 416 youth and adults from NESynod are registered for the Gathering. A new record for us.
  • The ELCA Youth Gathering holds the record as the largest Convention in New Orleans history. 
  • Currently over 32,000 are registered with an anticipated total of around 35,000.
  • All of the NESynod congregations will be housed in the Downtown Hampton Inn. Great central location, free Wifi and free breakfast!
  • Tim & Dave have lots of resources to share at the Final Prep meeting including restaurant menus, stuff to do, places to visit and photos of the hotel and key Gathering sites.  
  • The Dome evening events are being produced by the same team that produced this years Super Bowl half time and Oscar Awards. They are volunteering their time for the event!

On Friday, July 20th we will worship as a Synod for our "Day of Discipleship. We are looking for NESynod Musicians to be in the worship band. If you have someone who would be interested send their name to our Gathering Coach: Dave Dalzell

In addition to outlining three important aspects of servant leaders, participants will learn about three clusters of skills needed in ministry and have the opportunity to evaluate their own abilities in each area.
