Our Churchwide office has provided the New England Synod with several sets of a six-video series on DVD entitled, "Discover Islam."  The series, produced by Discover Islam -- USA, has received endorsement from the Islamic Society of North America. This is a resource that has helpful information covering Islam Faith & History. Topics include: Women of Islam; Islam: An American Faith; Islam a faith hijacked; Christians and Islam; and African Americans and Islam.   

The Rev. Donald McCoid, assistant to ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark S. Hanson and executive for ecumenical and inter-religious relations, has reviewed the videos and believes these documentary videos will provide an opportunity to gain a better understanding of Islam. They also provide an opportunity to discuss areas where we have common understanding, such as love of God and neighbor, as well.
