Doing What Matters

Doing What Matters Symbol

"Why Does God Need a Church?"

This is one of the provocative questions being asked at Mission Area Assembly Events throughout New England, as congregations address the issue of "Doing What Matters" to God. So, why does God need a church? Here are a few of the answers we received at the recent West Warwick, Rhode Island event:

"There are so few Lutherans in New England, that we all need places to get together, worship, talk about the Scriptures...and eat!"

"God needs us to remember and tell,

Not just preach heaven or hell.

He knows that we can't go it alone,

God calls us to leave our comfort zone."

"There once was a god named God,

Who had deep thoughts but needed a bod.

So he picked up some clay,

And made people his way,

To work and to share and be awed."

"God doesn't need a church...WE do!"

What is God calling you to do? Come and see at a "Doing What Matters" event. Just TWO more will be held this spring!
