What Attendees are Saying About "Doing What Matters" at Mission Assembly Events
The "Doing What Matters" Faciliteam has been collecting evaluation forms after each Mission Area Assembly, and the reactions from attendees have been overwhelmingly positive. Here are a few samples of what people around the New England Synod have been saying about the events...
"It was highly interactive, thought-provoking, and fun. It produced some wonderful, God-inspired direction for our synod's mission."
"The event reinforced God's gift of love - we are the church - and are meant to spread God's love."
"A ton of really great ideas were presented."
"We need to do God's work...but in order for that to happen, we all need to come together."
"What struck me was that the creativity of the human heart is amazing. We do have more tools to do God's work than I ever realized."
Coming this Saturday, March 12th, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm:

Sanctuary is "Reimagining Church" in Marshfield...And You Can Help.
You don't usually find face masks and ear plugs lying around when you step into the narthex of a church...and you would probably worry if you did. But when the Holy Spirit is breathing new life into your worship space, you can expect the unexpected! For Rev. Mark Huber, pastor of Sanctuary, the constant presence of work crews in sacred spaces is a foretaste of the feast to come. On Easter Sunday, he is expecting that his "resurrected" church will be ready to welcome 250 people to a joyful Easter celebration at 4:04 pm.
Sanctuary is a denominationally diverse church -- a new church collaboration between the ELCA and the United Methodist Church, seeking to create sacred spaces where people connect to God and respond to what God is doing in the world.
As Woody Allen once said, "90 percent of life is just showing up," and getting 250 people to show up in Marshfield on Easter Sunday is where you can help! Sanctuary is calling 40,000 households throughout the surrounding area to get the word out about Easter, and is looking for partners who would like to be part of this exciting work. Just ten cents calls one household, so a $100 donation means that 1000 households will learn about the unique ministry of Sanctuary.
If you or your congregation would like to support these efforts, please contact Pastor Mark at mark@sanctuarymarshfield.org. For more information about Sanctuary, Easter Sunday, and what it looks like to be a Methodist/Lutheran church, check out Sanctuary's website: www.sanctuarymarshfield.org.
