Change for the Better

2011 has been a year of dynamic change at First Nonprofit. We're poised for growth with the establishment of regional offices and Business Development staff added in key territories.

Next month First Nonprofit will announce a handful of new states. Effective January 1, we'll bring our agents and brokers new opportunities to expand your nonprofit book of business with us.

There's more exciting news to report. Effective November 1, Deb Zborowski is promoted to Vice President of Regional Operations and Programs. Deb is responsible for the performance of all three regional offices. Her strong entrepreneurial background will bring synergy and speed to the rollout of new products and territories in 2012 and 2013.

She'll also bring a new synergy to our agent and nonprofit outreach. First Nonprofit's ramped up efforts to touch nonprofits through webinars, live events, social media, and inbound marketing will funnel more leads to our independent agents and brokers. She also assumes responsibility for the Central Region as Regional Vice President.

Chris Finkley returns to the Underwriting side of the house with his promotion to Vice President of Insurance Operations. He'll guide the performance and direction of the Underwriting unit. He has the depth of skills and experience to fulfill our goal of creating a multiline underwriting unit that combines workers' compensation, D&O, package, auto, and umbrella underwriting, plus insurance operational services, under one efficient roof.

The promotion of Chris Finkley and Deb Zborowski to these newly created posts signals the beginning of a new chapter in First Nonprofit's unique approach to insuring. We're positioned for dramatic growth in the coming months. We look forward to partnering more closely with you so that we'll grow and prosper together.

Lunch & Learn Events Educate Nonprofits

In October, Territory Manager Paul Kinderis brought a series of lunchtime educational seminars to Montana. Working with the Montana Nonprofit Association, First Nonprofit attracted nearly 100 organizations to events in Billings, Butte, Kalispell, and Missoula.

Each Lunch & Learn featured speakers who shared information on volunteer liability and unemployment tax programs. COO & SVP Bob White even dropped in for a surprise special appearance.

"Past events have generated sizable new business in the Michigan and Ohio regions," Paul said. He's looking to repeat this success in Montana and other western states. The goals are simple, "... generate name recognition, build relationships, and create new business in that order," he added.

Our Business Development Reps are planning similar events in the coming year and welcome the opportunity to work with local agents. Contact your BD Rep for details.

May we introduce ...

Meet Ryan Bonomo, our new Eastern Region Territory Manager. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and comes to us from Bankers Life and Casualty.

Ryan currently manages agents in Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, northern Virginia, and Washington, D.C. What he loves most about his work is the opportunity to meet with clients and brokers. "It's such a tight-knit community," he reflected. His personal goal is to develop strong relationships with nonprofit organizations in order to improve First Nonprofit's services.

In addition to his promotion, he is recently engaged to fiancée Erin and they will marry in the fall of 2012. Ryan looks forward to working with everyone in his new role at First Nonprofit.
