ON-LINE SUPPORT
Dear Parents,
As I indicated last week, the magazine drive is instrumental in assisting us with various projects in the school (i.e. last year's drive assisted us in undertaking the transition to a wireless infrastructure for technology).  While the official turn-ins ended today, it is not to late to participate.  Students can continue to support the drive by submitting orders on-line. The Institutional Advancement Office will send a dedicated e-mail with that information next week.  Any orders submitted through December 21st will go toward our school.  Keep in mind we have tentatively established Holy Thursday, March 28th as our free day for reaching our school goal of $98,000.00 for the drive.

As of today, students have turned in $77,698.14 worth of orders which is 79.28% of our school wide goal.  585 students, or 70.31% of the student body, turned in at least one order. Of that figure the junior class led the way with 70% of the juniors participating.

In closing, as we bring a successful close to our Catholic Schools Week, I wish to thank each of you for your efforts on behalf of our students.

Peace and God's Blessings,
Dan Garrick '79
Principal

PRAY WITH US
October is the month of the Holy Rosary. The Stallions for Life Club would like to invite any student, parent, teacher or alum to the Chapel during the month of October to pray a rosary in honor of supporting all human life. The chapel is open from 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. every weekday.  We would love to have our DeSales family come and pray for an end to all suffering in the world including abortion, euthanasia, poverty, capital punishment, suicide, unjust war, terrorism, etc. Rosaries will be available in the chapel each day beginning next week. Contact Mrs. Pore with any questions.
SPIRITUAL REFLECTION

Do not change your confessor too readily. When you have chosen one, be faithful in keeping him informed of the state of your conscience on the day selected for your confession, telling him frankly and openly the sins you have committed. From time to time, say every month or two, let him know of any inclinations you may have, even if they are not sinful. For example, do you give way to moments of sadness or ill-humor? Do you frequently take time off from your duties? Do you have a tendency to want your own way? Ask yourself similar questions. (INT. Part II, Ch. 19; O. III, p. 115)
