STALLIONS IN THE HEADLINES

 

On September 14, students from St. Francis DeSales joined the Most Reverend Bishop Fredrick Campbell for his radio show "From the Chair" with other diocesan high schools.  The students asked questions of Bishop Campbell around the topic of "Living the Good Life" and then he switched sides to ask the students questions.  It was a great opportunity for the students to have some one on one time with the Bishop and to see how a radio show is produced.  Check out the airing of the show on St. Gabriel Radio 820 am Tuesday, September 25 during Catholic Schools Week.
MAGAZINE DRIVE UPDATE
Dear Parents: 

We are entering into the final weekend of our annual magazine drive.  Thank you to those parents and students who have been able to support us in our efforts.  If you have not yet had the opportunity to participate, it is not too late!  Your support is vital as we strive to achieve our goal.  Please keep in mind the school counts on this revenue as part of our annual budget.  The magazine drive enables us to address academic program needs and capital enhancements.  As with all things at St. Francis DeSales High School our expectation is for community involvement.  We cannot continue to deliver an excellent product without 100% support.  

 

We encourage you to order online; simply go to the following link: www.gaschoolstore.com/landing.aspx?SID=2584225.  You will be prompted to identify the name of the student you are supporting, click Next, and then you may begin selecting your magazine choices.  Feel free to pass this link on to your family/friends and ask for their support.  Remind family/friends to identify your child as the student they are supporting.  Please print order confirmations and have your student turn in with daily collection at school.  If family/friends order, ask them to email their order confirmation so you may print and turn in with the daily collection. Next week we will be providing many incentives to those students who turn in orders.  Thank you for your help!

CHECK-IN AT 9AM -- Walk for just an hour from 10AM to 11AM

FLU CLINIC AT SFDHS
Once again, this school year, in conjunction with the Columbus Public Health Department, St. Francis DeSales High School will host a Flu Clinic for members of our student body. The Flu Clinic will be held on Thursday, October 4th from 9 to 11 a.m. in the St. Francis DeSales High School Gymnasium. In Homerooms next week, students will receive the necessary registration paperwork as well as details regarding both the Live Intranasal Vaccine as well as the Inactivated Vaccine. Registration paperwork must be returned to Assistant Principal, Mr. Jim Jones no later than Monday, October 1st. Please indicate at the top of your registration form which vaccine type you want your student to receive. The registration paperwork has been attached for your convenience. Feel free to contact Mr. Jones with any questions.
SPIRITUAL REFLECTION 

  

It is well to reflect from time to time on the commandments of God, not only in general but also on the particular commandments proper to each person's vocation. If we find them distasteful, what makes them so? Only our will, which wants to have its own way in everything. It often happens that we desire to do something that we are not commanded to do, but if the same thing is commanded, we do not want to do it. From this it can be seen that we want to serve God in our own way and not in His.
