| Alumni Spotlight | Christie Angel
Sean P. Dunn and Associates
Before "Take Your Daughter to Work" became an annual event, Christie Angel's father gave her an opportunity to shadow him, taking her to city council and neighborhood meetings to discuss economic development issues facing Columbus in the 1970s. "I was bitten! I fell in love with the process and the thought that I could help improve and change the community by getting involved," said Angel.
While earning her B.S. degree in Communications and an MBA degree from Franklin University, Angel worked for the City of Columbus in the Public
Utilities Department. She then worked as a policy aide for Columbus City Council from 1993-99 before being appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff to Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman in 2000, a position she held until joining AT&T as Director of External and Government Affairs. She joined Sean P. Dunn & Associates in 2007. Angel currently represents several clients in legislative, procurement, administrative and community relations matters. She also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Capitol Square Foundation, Leadership Columbus and United Way of Central Ohio; immediate past chair of the YWCA of Columbus; and is a member of the Columbus Chapter of The Links, Inc.
Angel served on the Columbus police chief search committee in 2008 and is a co-chair of the Columbus 2012 Bicentennial Initiatives Committee. She is married to Otto Beatty III, and resides in German Village.
