Pictured right is Kyra with her artwork. We also congratulate sophomore Ben Risinger and freshman Lillie DeGarmo who were the winners of the Arson Awareness poster contest (High School-Hand Drawn division) sponsored by the Office of Catholic Schools, the Columbus Division of Fire and the Ohio Blue Ribbon Arson Committee. Ben will receive $500 as the first place winner, and Lillie will receive $150 as the runner- up. Twenty finalists, selected from 195 nominations, were recognized on April 5, 2012 during an invitation-only luncheon at the Columbus Museum of Art. Junior Kristen Sellan was selected as one of those finalists! At age 13, Sellan made a fleece blanket for her grandmother, who was suffering from cancer. As part of her project, "Cuddles From Kristen," she now makes blankets (370 so far) for families at the Ronald McDonald House. There will be a one hour special on April 28th at 7 p.m. on Channel 10 showcasing the winners. Tune in! Junior Classical League is holding a drive to collect items for the Center for Child and Family Advocacy. The Center for Child and Family Advocacy provides services to abused children and their families. It is associated with Nationwide Children's Hospital. We will be collecting art supplies, books, and journals for children of all ages. Collection bins are located in the lobby and at the north entrance. The drive will be held through April 27. The supplies will be donated in honor of Colleen Dobbins. Thank you for helping us provide for these children.

EMPOWERING STUDENTS FOR LIFE
|
| Scott Wintering '02
Commercial Banking Officer MB Financial Bank
After graduating from the University of Dayton with a B.S. in Finance and a minor in Accounting, Scott started his career at LaSalle National Bank and currently works for MB Financial Bank in Chicago as a Commercial Banking Officer.
Scott's interest in learning how businesses run, specifically in the private sector, sparked his interest in a career in commercial lending. He says "part of my job is to be very familiar with the operations of my clients and the industries they serve. The in-depth analysis required in order to fund a loan to a company allows me to obtain a good understanding of how a company makes money." He also enjoys the opportunity to work with clients from a variety of industries including manufacturing, construction and not-for-profit.
Scott unquestionably credits his parents for being a positive influence on his personal life and says DeSales did an amazing job of further strengthening the core values instilled in him by his parents. He says that during his time at DeSales, he was challenged both academically and athletically which resulted in him growing as an individual; but most importantly, DeSales provided the tools for him to meet those challenges.

SPIRITUAL REFLECTION
|
| We behold your glory, O God, in the love shown by your Son, lifted up on the cross and exalted on high. Increase our love for one another, that both in name and in truth we may be disciples of the risen Lord Jesus, and so reflect by our lives the glory that is yours. Amen.
