SFDHS is proud to announce our three delegates (pictured left) for Buckeye Girls State: Amy Shomo, Elaine Caw, and Kate Julian, and three alternates: Isabel Hogado, My Linh Li, and Andrea Acquista. Girls State is a nationally recognized program where girls are selected to attend based on their interest in government, character, and scholarship. The program is run by the American Legion Auxiliary. Girls selected will attend a one week conference at Mt. Union College from June 10-June 16. Buckeye Girls State is designed to give girls first-hand knowledge about the workings of local and state government. They will be assigned to a political party and run a mock government. This program is intended to mold young women into America's leaders of tomorrow.
