Students in the Spotlight

Yoder_eagle scoutJunior Nathan Yoder
earned his Eagle Scout award last month, the highest advancement rank in Scouting. His Eagle Project included designing, purchasing supplies and renovating the school's Band Room storage area. Pictured right is Nathan in front of one of the new storage units.

Senior Marq Pannell will attend the College of Mount St. Joseph in the fall, and play football for the Mount Lions. He received $26,000 in academic scholarships and awards.

Liz and St. Bernard

Junior Liz Ernst
and her St. Bernard, Tank, participated in the "Introduction to Physical Rehabilitation Hands-On Lab" with OSU Veterinarian, Dr. Jennifer Au, at the Midwest Veterinary Conference held last month. Undergraduate, Pre-vet students, graduate students and veterinarians across the U.S. attended this conference to learn new methods, procedures, and skills to take with them for use in their field. Liz learned about this great opportunity from an issue of the "DHS Guidance News." Past issues of the Guidance Newsletter can be found on the Guidance webpage. Pictured left is Liz and Tank at the conference.

Junior Kristen Sellan has been selected as one of January's Atlas Butler
Award Winners. She was featured in a February issue of THIS WEEK COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS and Atlas Butler will be delivering a check to the school for $250
for Ms. Windau's Calculus classroom. They will receive a White Castle Crave
Party Pack as well.

Thank you to all who participated in the American Red Cross Blood Drive this past Tuesday. We reached our goal, donating 70 productive units to the ARC. A special thanks to Blood Drive student coordinators senior Averi Sherman and junior Nick Clarke.

On Wednesday, the Headmaster (principal) from Institution St. Joseph in Le Havre France toured the school building, met with administrators, and popped in to a few classes. Pictured right is Headmaster

Mothers Club Labels for Education
Reminder to all: The Mothers Club has Labels for Education collection boxes in the Office and in Room 112 (Mrs. Griffith's room). Please send them in with your son or daughter.

There is also a new way our school can earn points electronically. If parents, teachers, alumni and students register their Kroger and Giant Eagle cards on the eLabels website, we can earn points when purchases are made at the checkout at these stores of the participating items. Please register here today!

The electronic points along with the paper points can give us extra points for items on our wish list for the school. Please visit the Labels for Education website for more information about the program. If you would like to view our wish list, type in the school's zip code (43224) and choose our school name.
