Students in the Spotlight

autism puzzle
Students will participate in a "blue-out" at next friday's Boys Basketball games vs. Watterson to support the 2nd Annual NBC4 Autism Puzzle Shootout, and the organization Autism Speaks. Pictured left is the t-shirt students were able to purchase this week, with donations going to Autism Speaks. T-shirt design by senior Jordan Barnett.

Students, under the direction of advisors Principal Dan Garrick and English teacher Bill Kerwin, will mix history and storytelling this month as they work with St. Paul the Apostle parish as it prepares for its Centennial Celebration. These mini-historians, with the assistance of St. Paul parishioner and St. Francis DeSales High School alum, Tim Kane, parish administrator Jerry Nieman, and Fr. Charlie Klinger, will create a book to help tell the story of how the parish has evolved and how it has impacted the lives of the members of its community. Their work will begin by interviewing around 40 parishioners and compiling their experiences. For the hours of research that will ensue, students will receive academic credit through this independent study.
