Future Business Leaders of America

The FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter at DeSales, took a trip to Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday, October 18. Those who went included the club's president Matt Young, vice president Matt DeCesare, secretary Jack Slomsky, and treasurer Emma Hennon. They were joined by junior Essence Cheatom , junior Sean Walsh and freshman Shawn Gerrity. At the retreat they gathered with the state officers of Ohio and other officers from fellow schoolsBusiness Officers around the state. They also met marketing representatives who worked for Quicken Loans Arena. Essence personally enjoyed the "Human Machine" icebreaker because teams got to make their own machine, and then market it to the other groups and the judges. The trip was not all fun and  games, as they had to get down to business. After a tour of the Arena, they broke into groups according to their leadership position and learned what other school officers were accomplishing. The officers shared what they learned with the rest of the club at their meeting this past Tuesday.

They are looking forward to the Business Club trip to Chicago in April. To go to Chicago, students must be a member of Business Club, and must have attended four of the upcoming six meetings before the trip. The meetings are once a month, and the best part is whether the meetings are in the mornings or after school, food is always provided! Other Business Club events to look forward to are the competitions in February and March. Any business club member can participate in these events. A twitter page for instant Business Club updates coming soon.

For extra information, feel free to ask any of the above stated officers or our advisor Mr. Montenaro.  Check out his website to view the business club website for specific dates, prices and other things.

Spiritual Reflection Today is the feast day of St. Simon and St. Jude.

As we prepare to celebrate the Feast of All Saints and All Souls next week, let us remember all those who have gone before us whose constant intercession we rely on each day.

"Make friends with the angels, who though invisible are always with you. Often invoke them, constantly praise them, and make good use of their help and assistance in all your temporal and spiritual affairs."

- St. Francis deSales
