 Housing has always responded to the Market. What buyers want, builders need to produce. People have been exposed, in home shows and magazines, to the larger homes. In their minds, they have already moved in and enjoy decorating homes that offer a family gathering area, private computer/study areas, mud room, open kitchen with island and large bedrooms with luxurious amenities. To accomplish this and control building costs consider a home design with a second floor master suite and a minimal amount of vaulted ceilings. A first floor dedicated to family living and second floor focusing on sleeping space offers an efficient use of square footage. Homes with second floor master suites are practical for young families with small children.
