Taste of Scituate Ticket Sales- 2 Weeks Remaining!

Dear Saint Luke's Parishioners,

You have probably heard by now that we are again hosting the Taste of Scituate. Our focus is to raise money for the continued support of our Outreach projects.

URGENT: TIME IS RUNNING OUT...we only have 2 weeks and must finish sales by Sunday, September 25th. We must get as many tickets distributed to you all by this Sunday, September 18th, so pick up your tickets soon!!!

We need your help. We need each of you to take a packet of 10 tickets to help us reach our goal of selling at least 750.

You don't even need to "SELL" them, just ask your friends, family and co-workers "Would you be interested in a raffle where you could win dinner out each night for 31 days?" Not everyone will be interested, but we know there are enough people out there who want to participate ...we just have to find them.

Pick up your packets immediately following Sunday services...look for Tracy Dieselman, Erica Pollard or John Hudanich. Any questions, please contact me: john@hudanich.net , 781-234-8631.

THANKS & GOOD LUCK!

Harvest Fair Meeting
A meeting of all chair people will be held after the 10 AM service on September 18th. If you ran a booth last year and would like to do it again, please call Maureen Keys at 781-545-1348 or Susanna Dietz at 781-545-6109.
Appalachian Service Project
Do you want an amazing summer experience? Join the Appalachian Service Project!

Our first meeting for our June 2012 trip will be at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church on Country Way on September 18th at 7:30pm.  Teens grades 10th through 12th are encouraged to come to the meeting to hear about ASP.   ASP is a week of repairing homes for desperately needy people.  We encourage adults who would like to chaperone to come hear about the ASP program.  Building skills not necessary, just the desire to help others and to guide the teens through this week.  The week is hard work, but the fun and camaraderie is tremendous! Through ASP we spread God's love and caring by helping others.  We have daily devotionals on our trip to center us on our mission.  The trip can be life changing for both you and the families we serve.  If you want more information, please e-mail Maureen Keys or call 781-545-1348.

ASP 2011 Presentation: Please join us at 9am on Sunday, September 18th in the Gordon Room for a presentation of the 2011 ASP trip.  We have a video of the trip that will give you a peek at what your purchase of stocks did for us in funding our trip.  For anyone considering coming on the trip, this will give you a sample of the week that you will treasure in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains.  Hopefully many of our members from the trip will be there to share their personal stories.  If you have any questions please e-mail Maureen Keys or call 781-545-1348

Dementia Family Forum- Sept. 21
Hamilton Adult Day Center is sponsoring this free program by StillMee the leader in Alzheimer Coaching. When a diagnosis of Alzheimer's is given, the whole family needs care and the information to make care giving easier. Come learn how dementia changes the brain and behavior. Learn how to respond to those changes in a helpful way and stay in relationship with your family member.  3:30 - 5:30 pm. Call Karen for details, 508-317-4241.
Sundae Sunday - Sept. 25th
Come to our annual Sundae Sunday and see what kind of unique sundae you can make!  Donations of ice cream and toppings are welcome!
Community Dinner- September 25th
September's menu is Garden Salad, Roast Chicken, Potatoes, and Dessert. We will be looking for donations of salad and dessert as well as volunteers to help with set up, serving and clean up.  Please see the sign up sheets in the narthex. Thanks for your continued support.
