Search for Youth Minister! Help Us Get the Word Out!

Dick Clay left a bequest of $204,000 designated for use of youth ministry. We need your help in getting the word out; maybe you know of someone perfect for the job. We seek someone--lay or ordained--who has familiarity with the Episcopal Church, a passion for youth, some experience in youth work and/or Sunday School, and significant available time especially on weekends. At this point we are looking for whomever might be out there. The position starts at 2/3 time, $30,000, with benefits; while it can range up to full-time, we want to make the bequest last as long as possible--a minimum of 3 years, hopefully longer--as we build up parish-giving to keep a sustainable program in place. The right fit of the person is more important than the full/part-time, lay/ordained distinctions. Person needs to live locally (Scituate and contiguous towns) or be willing to relocate. Responsibilities include middle school, high school, and Sunday School programs. We will take a look at our possible candidates through and until July 12th, when we will re-evaluate if needed. Those interested should send in resume and any other supporting materials to the church, attention The Rev. Grant Barber.

Jam Bee, Sat., July 16th, 9 am - 12 noon

Join us as we learn the secrets of great jam making. Learn the difference between a jam, jelly and a chutney. We will be making jam to take home and some for the Berry Bonanza and Harvest Fair. We will be working with strawberries, rhubarb and blueberries.

Community Dinner: Sunday, July 24th

We are reinstituting our summer picnic theme and will host a  salad buffet with choices of pasta, potato or garden salads with sides of ham. Of course we will be offering lemonade and lots of yummy desserts to welcome in summer. Please consider signing up for a salad and joining us for a cool evening.

Sanctuary Candle

Would you like to remember a loved one in a special way or give thanks for a wonderful blessing? Consider dedicating the Sanctuary Candle at our weekly service. Open dates for July are 7/17, 7/24, 7/31. Please sign up on the calendar posted in the narthex.  The requested donation is $10.00.
