Parking Lot Clean Up-  Sat,  May 21, 9 AM
Bring shovels, wheelbarrows, brooms, leaf blowers, lopping shears or anything else to beat back the overgrowth. Your help is needed and appreciated....Many hands make light work!
Join us for Sampling the World!
Once a month anyone interested in trying out food they might not otherwise will be invited to meet at a specific time and place for fellowship. May 21st, a Saturday, starts us off at 5 p.m. at a local place, Holas, in Marshfield. They serve tapas, or small plates, a Spanish version of small plates that in other cultures are named differently e.g. mezes. Think appetizers, no main course; lots of sampling. Tapas places are quite common in Spain (and quite a few in Boston, too). The origins of tapas: bar food- order a drink get something on the side to nibble on for free to accompany, whatever was in the kitchen. In many bars in Spain you can still get the free nibbles with a drink; extra servings cost though. for more information and directions: http://www.restauranthola.net/   Sign up on the list in the narthex, or just show up!  Some rough head count will be helpful; we are scheduling this early on Saturday just in case we mob the place. For next month's meeting, Xuemei will lead a group to Chinatown. Details to be announced later.
Communion Celebration- Sun., May 22nd

On May 22nd, all families of children participating in the communion celebration are invited to a light breakfast starting at 9 AM. No regular classes will be held, but we would love to have the other classes attend the church service at 10 AM to support and congratulate the 2nd graders as they make their First Communion.

Community Dinner- Sun., May 22nd- 5 PM

The British Beer Company will be providing a British Pub Dinner. May is National Seniors Month and to help celebrate the Scituate Council on Aging will be providing a special cake. We are still in need of donations of garden salads,as well as servers and clean up helpers. Please sign up in the narthex.  Thank you.

Teacher Appreciation - June 5th
Please join us to say a special thank you to all the teachers who have volunteered their time to teach our Sunday School children.
Year End Picnic- June 5th
Come help us celebrate the end of our Sunday School year with a picnic immediately after the 10 AM service. More info to follow.
Want to Serve God?
And looking for ways to do so? We need volunteers to go with those already with experience to the Life Care Nursing Home one Sunday morning a month to lead in scripture readings and singing songs. It's a great ministry and so very meaningful to the residents. Please see Grant. Beatriz or call the office to express interest, 781-545-9482.
Join a winning ticket with the Taste of Scituate 2011 planning committee!

Whether you would like to find out more, would like to sign up to help or just curious about this "winning" program, please join us Sunday June 5th, following the 10am service for a brief organizational meeting in the Gordon Room. All those who attend are eligible to WIN A GIFT CERTIFICATE to a local restaurant. You do not have to participate -but you must be present to win.
