WET-NZ Attached to Mooring, Initial Ballast Complete

What a morning!  No fog, no wind, no chop.  Everyone was up early and ready to go.  The NRC Quest and R/V Pacific Storm arrived on station at 0715, met shortly after by the F/V Enterprise, two OSU RHIBs, and tugboat Peggy towing the WET-NZ.

The first procedure of the day, attaching the WET-NZ to its mooring, was completed without a hitch.  With Grant Snyder at the helm, the tug deftly positioned the device between the subsurface floats.  Simultaneously, divers from the Enterprise and the OSU RHIB made quick work of attaching the mooring lines to the WET-NZ.

At 0915, the divers opened the ballast valves, flooding the lower tanks, and within minutes the WET-NZ was upright!  Stay tuned for the next step - attaching the third and final leg of the mooring system.
