Featured Product of the Week:
CPG - Personal Care
CYTOMIMIC™ TECHNOLOGY -- Shortly before winning the Gold Edison Best New Product Award last April, the innovators responsible for developing Cytomimic™ technology presented clinical data about the product's abilities to the American Academy of Dermatology.
In his presentation to the Academy, Dr. Ying Sun of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies described how Cytomimic™ was developed based on decades of research on how to harness the power of bioelectricity to improve skin rejuvenation. "Injured skin naturally generates a low level electrical signal to promote healing," said Dr. Sun. "The application of Cytomimic™ technology has clinically demonstrated the ability to mimic this healing signal for potential tissue healing and rejuvenation applications."
The new technology is present in several new Johnson & Johnson products, including Neutrogena Clinical™, RoC®, Brilliance™, Sublime Energy™, e-pulse™ and Aveeno® Ageless Vitality™. Dr. Sun and his colleagues were on hand at the April 4, 2011 Edison Awards Gala to receive the prestigious Edison Best New Product Gold Award in the CPG/Personal Care segment. They provided samples of the Neutrogena Clinical™ product for all of the evening's guests.
We congratulate Dr. Sun and his fellow innovators, and look forward to more exciting developments from Johnson & Johnson. |
New Innovations are Everywhere
What Are Your Favorites?
We encounter new products all the time - products that amaze us with their efficacy or value, products that elicit a "why didn't I think of that" reaction. Maybe it's not a product, but a service that wows us with its ingenuity and ability to answer a need we didn't even know we had.
The Edison Awards are dedicated to recognizing and promoting these new innovations through our annual Edison Best New Product Awards™. Throughout the year, members of our Steering Committee, past winners and a panel of volunteers help us identify game changing products and services that meet our criteria and which they feel deserve to be nominated for an Edison Award.
We're inviting you to join us in identifying new innovations that deserve to be recognized. Whether it's something in the mainstream such as a new CPG product, a new app that makes life easier, or a noteworthy new invention in a specialty field, the Edison Awards invites nominations in 13 different categories.
Our open call for nominations officially opens September 1st. But NOW is the ideal time to send us your suggestions. Simply cut and paste the product or service URL into an email and send it to us at inge@edisonawards.com and we will personally follow-up with the organization when nominations for the 2012 awards open. |
