Edison Awards Light Up NYC

400+ Attend Spectacular Celebration

2011 GalaIt was a spectacular evening, indeed.  On April 5th, more than 400 people arrived at the historic Capitale ballroom to celebrate the 2011 Edison Awards.  The evening began with a reception during which some of the year's most intriguing innovations were on display, ranging from the new Coca Cola Freestyle commercial drink dispenser to paper products made from stone (by TerraSkin).   Although the room was at times elbow-to-elbow, the mood was decidedly "up," as participants gathered with their company colleagues, made new acquaintances and shared hopes for what the evening's ceremony would reveal.

A featured display at the reception was a creation by TLC's "Cake Boss" -- a fascinating confection that payed tribute to Discovery Communications as well as fellow innovators and good friends, Henry Ford and Thomas Edison.

As the evening's dinner service concluded, the excitement became even more palpable as Sarah Miller-Caldicott, Chairperson of the Edison Awards' Steering Committee, welcomed guests to the program.

Following Sarah's remarks, the stage was turned over to the evening's emcee, Danny Forster, host of "Build it Bigger."  Together with Mike Rowe, host of "Dirty Jobs" and Ford Truck spokesman, Danny kept the audience on the edge of their seats as the Edison Best New Product Awards were announced.

Congratulations to Our Winners

Altogether, more than 80 awards were presented in twelve different categories, and rousing cheers arose from around the ballroom as winning colleagues learned that they'd won Gold, Silver or Bronze awards in recognition of their innovative work.  Click here for a complete list of winners, including Best New Product Awards and the Edison Green Awards.
