This month BYR would like to specially thank Moms and members of the Military for their altruistic work, so that your children and the people in this country have a safe place to live. Last weekend Tighe, Garland, Jackie, Marcia, Natalie, and Kara attended a 2 day seminar with senior Bikram Yoga teacher, Diane Ducharme, in Baltimore, MD. Diane began practicing Bikram Yoga in 1985, when dinosaurs roamed the earth. She became a certified teacher in 1995 and opened the first yoga studio in Massachusetts soon after. In addition to teaching and running her studio, she travels the world giving seminars on Bikram Yoga. Spring Challenge Testemonial!!!

I just finished the 30 day Go Green Challenge and I feel fantastic!!!! Bikram Yoga will be in my life for the rest of my life. I took my very first yoga class on Apr 1 completely drained after the class, I just knew I had to come back for more. I signed up that same day for the challenge. I have never felt so good in my 41 years on this planet! Throughout the challenge, everyone was so nice and encouraging that it made my days so pleasant. I felt so good, on two separate days, I even did a double-dose of classes.
In my younger years, I was an athlete. However, I had not realized how inflexible I've become over the years. By far, my best day was on the 19th of April - this is when I had a huge breakthrough. I was able to get into both the Bow and Camel postures for the first time. I was so excited I gave our instructor, Briah a big bear hug after class! FIT FOR LIFE- is my new mantra for 2011 and Bikram Yoga is helping me reach my fitness goals. I ran the Suntrust 8k last Nov which started me on this path. I'm running the Susan G. Komen 5k Race for the Cure this Sat May 7th and the Suntrust 1/2 Marathon in Nov. Next year I will run my first Marathon. My Bikram Yoga practice has given me the confidence to change my life for which I will be forever grateful.

BYR Salutes Military Families!
May is Military Appreciation Month
During May -- Military Appreciation Month - Bikram's Studios will fundraise for ThanksUSA, a 501(c)(3), which provides need-based scholarships to spouses and children of the troops.
They sacrifice a lot for us, let's sacrifice a little for them.
Get Involved! Make a donation online at www.thanksusa.org and be eligible for a drawing every Monday during May starting on May 9th. Prizes include a month of unlimited yoga, a Breathe mat, a bottle of e3 live, and yoga clothes (for man or woman). Winners will be announced on Mondays on the BYR Facebook page.
