New Studios at 939 win Popularity Contest.....

Sister Act loves them, Lion King loves them, and YOU will love them, if you can grab one before the rest of Broadway catches on. Seriously, though, these are great spaces. Home to the original Pilates studio back in the 1920's, they're not only gorgeous, spacious, and bright, but they are bursting with fantastic energy from all the luminaries who have created and worked there over the last century.

Happy Spring!
It is Spring, right? Close enough. Time for parades, day trips to Coney, and blowing the dust off your dance moves. Here at RG, we're busy making our 25th year in the business the best so far. We've doubled our handyman crew and and are getting busy with fresh paint, new trim, freshly buffed dance floors and more every day, so we can look spring-fresh all the time. Rose is getting creative in the cafe with more fresh salads and veggie offerings, all of which are (of course) available to be delivered right to your studio by our catering crew.
Oh! And lets not forget all of our spring class offerings from our partners at CAST events! Audition workshops with top casting directors, beginner and intermediate V/O classes, and our hugely successful Broadway Dance for Actors class, created to help all of us "move well-er".
So enjoy the weather, folks, and then come in to RG and enjoy a class, a bite, a freshly decked-out studio, and our super-cheap walk-in, late-night, and weekend specials. We'll leave the door open.

Coaching Spotlight: Camille Gifford
Camille has been teaching music for over 30 years. She currently studies with Steven Smith, originally from Juilliard, but now newly relocated to Northwestern University where he was recruited to head the voice department there. Camille's technique is classical vocal technique especially aimed towards teaching classical singing which involves knowledge of breath support, vowel production, release of jaw tension and the way these all combine to develop a sound technique which will ultimately give the singer freedom and longevity in singing specifically for classical music. Camille specializes in opera and art song. Camille is an accomplished pianist as well and received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Southwest Missouri State University graduating summa cum laude, Teaching Certificate for Vocal Music (grades K-12), Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and has also completed work towards the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. About her love of RG, Camille says, "I love Ripley Grier because I feel the studios are the best in town. The pianos are the best kept in town at Ripley. I also love talking to all my many friends at Ripley each time I come in. No matter who is working at the desk, I always get a smile and 'Hi Camille. How are you?' Why would I go anywhere else!" Camille has been a steady client of Ripley Grier studios for a number of years now, so many that she can't remember. Every year she looks forward to resisting the Girl Scout cookies, "some years more successfully than others".
